Can't afford an expensive camera or macro lens? Fret not! your phone and a cheap old lens will do! We took apart an old Sigma 2.8 24mm lens and used the second glass element as an external macro lens for the p10. The results are pretty crazy, the old glass gives a film texture and softness and amazing colours from the Huawei sensor. It goes to show that it doesn't matter what kit you use its all about the creative intension and use of the tools at hand. It's also worth noting that the lens has a massive impact on the look a lot of people assume it's all about film but it's true to say the lens plays a big role.

Shooting for a jewelry commercial in shenzhen. Shooting three different lighting setups and styles in one day. We used kinos in the background with some smoke turning them on and off with a ring light on the camera to make a modern sleek type feeling. For the second setup we tried something a bit more classic with a 10x10 butterfly from the side and some background lights and hairlight.. All shot on tungsten to get more golden look with some material in front of the lens for depth. Then finally we tried a vintage style which for me was the most challenging to create. In the end we used Crystals in front of the lens and several lights in a pattern in the background with two bounce boards either side of the camera for fill. Arri mini and UPs and a jib Just to give more freedom with movement.

Our latest Project... shooting underwater for Jeulia jewelry. Challenging shoot in many ways but we achieved some great shots. Using a m90 as our Key light and a 4.5k par with diffusion filling any too dark spots. We also used two cameras FS7 mark ii with UPs and a sony rx 100 mark v. Which was the budget friendly way to get 500fps in water. Remember to wear suncream the m90 burns :o
