Job Title: Optoelectronic Engineer
Department: R&D
Job Purpose:
We are seeking an innovative optoelectronic engineer to push the boundaries of 3D imaging technology and help achieve commercial-grade solutions. Reporting to the Head of R&D and the Senior Project Director, you will lead development efforts to advance our 3D sensing and displaying capabilities, and thus help bring new products to market.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimise optoelectronic systems for 3D imaging, including light sources, imaging sensors, and related optics
- Leverage the latest advancements in laser, LED, and photodetector technologies
- Develop calibration and reconstruction techniques to achieve high-resolution, high-accuracy 3D models from raw sensor data
- Conduct experiments to characterise system performance and analyse results to guide further improvements
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate sensing and displaying solutions into full product prototypes
- Contribute to product roadmaps and planning to successfully transition technologies from lab to commercial products
- Identify technology trends and research opportunities to stay at the cutting edge of 3D imaging - Prepare technical documentation, reports, and patents to communicate work
- Present results to technical and executive audiences.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience
- Expertise in optoelectronic device design and characterisation
- Hands-on experience developing 3D imaging and sensing systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for bringing new technologies from concept to reality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

You will make an impact by:
• Working closely with the product development team to define and deliver the next-generation photonic technologies
• Identifying and evaluating candidates for future emitter and detector solutions
• Maintaining and further developing optical link budget/model simulations
• Liaising with 3rd party technology vendors
• Assisting with the development and ex*****on of test procedures for photonic components/subsystems
• Writing and maintaining design documentation and test reports as appropriate
• Promoting deeper knowledge of photonic devices/technologies within the wider company.
You’ll thrive if you have:
Essential
• Post-graduate degree in Optics, Optoelectronics, Physics, or similar. Recent graduates are welcome to apply
• Solid understanding of the physics and electronics behind the operation of various photonic detector and display technologies
• Good understanding of digital communication concepts
• Good experience with simulation tools such as Matlab and Zemax
• The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with both commercial and technical
employees
• A self-starter attitude with analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Desirable
• Solid commercial industry engineering experience in the field of photonics or optical device design
• LASER safety training and familiarity with relevant optoelectronic standards (e.g., IEC 60825)
• Hardware design experience including schematic capture and PCB layout
• Experience working with high-volume commercial products.

Salary:
• 8k RMB per month for the first two months
