Electronic music producer, singer-songwriter, bandleader and DJ, Wu Zhuoling is a prolific artist deeply involved with all elements of live performance and producing. With her extensive experience and talent, she has become one of the most iconic female indie artists in China.
Following the release of “Secret Mission” (2005), the debut album of her band Wednesday’s Trip, she abruptly quit the band and moved to Tibet, where she remained as a recluse for two years. What happened next would herald a strident return to her hometown Chengdu, where she restarted her music career and refined her personal style.
Wu Zhuoling toured across China, Europe and New Zealand, released dozens of albums and EPs and received nominations such as Best Female Artist and Best New Electronic Album of The Year.
Like her musical output, Wu Zhuoling’s collaborations are wide ranging - composing and performing live music for theater plays and fashion shows, working with multimedia designer for Audio/Video exhibitions, etc.
A producer in her own right, she has also produced and mixed albums for other bands and artists whose genre ranges from Post-rock, Hiphop, Electro Pop to World Music.
After years of polishing and refining, a strongly personalized musical style gradually took shape. The elegant melodies, deep and warm vocals, lyrical story-telling and mystic tranquil atmosphere always endow her music a pure and unique quality, one that touches the audience deep in their soul.
In recent years, her outstanding achievements on Ambient and Indie electronic music has won her high acclaim both inside and outside the industry. She headlined the Picnic Ambient Festival and Lucid Dream Ambient series concerts, played and webcast her live electronic music from the helicopter pad on top of a 57-story building, and presented a set of high quality music, visual and multimedia works.
Her infectious live sets, whether at the dance floor of clubs or open air at scenic spots, are always captivating and heartily admired by her fans. The sonic landscapes she is crafting keep pushing the independent electronic sound to the forefront.
“In the techno scenes she sketches live with hardware, fresh melodic fragments are spread like scattered light over a haze of deep ambience; the mood progresses with a solid, repetitive rhythm, catalyzed by soulful samples from the fields or the streets, creating a unique texture of tranquility and slight psychedelia.”

去年夏天，我们在成都闹市的一条小巷中，“波浪山谷”的屋顶，举办了一场即兴音乐会「菜园LIVE」。特邀了汪文伟、张荐和吴卓玲进行了首次合作。三位音乐人的美妙碰撞相信让在场所有观众身心舒畅，久久难忘。

如今阴霾散尽，春暖花开，正值成都最舒适的时节。我们准备开启新一轮楼顶天台系列。这次继续邀请了汪文伟和吴卓玲，以及张荐和老赵的组合FM3。

「半空」包含了两场音乐会，分别于地球酒吧（4月18日/周四）和Bar&Lore（4月20日/周六）两处中心城区的楼顶天台举办。每场音乐会均包含三组音乐人的分开表演时段及最后的合作即兴时段，从日落持续到晚间。

Max Cooper will will bring his stunning 3D/AV live show for the first time to China on May 25th!

Max Cooper’s 3D/AV performance is something that anyone who has seen it will certainly never forget. Drawing on his PhD in Computational Biology and his experience as a resident DJ in clubs, he has created a perfect interplay between electronic music, visual art, techno and scientific experimentation. The breathtaking visuals, which float magnificently across the giant screens at the front and back of the stage, are a visual delight and a feast for the senses, as people‘s eyes linger on the ever-changing patterns and imagery, occasionally closing their eyes and leaving their senses to their ears, immersing themselves in his fascinating electronic sounds, absorbing all the spatial vibrations brought about by the sound!

He’ll be supported by our very own Wu Zhuoling! Her distinctive soulful progressive music and infectious live performance will set the stage before Max takes you on his mind-blowing 2.5h audio-visual journey.

Auckland, we see you! Kaishandao and Wu Zhuoling set to take over this Wednesday. Expect psychedelic dance and ethereal vibes!

(Mandarin for ‘machete’) is a Chengdu-based producer. Forged from the hills of Pōneke and melded by the breakneck BPM of China, Kaishandao produces a playful mash of delirious dance music.

Wu Zhuoling 吴卓玲 is the chameleonic pioneer at the forefront of Chengdu’s live electronic music counterculture. A stalwart of the Chinese scene, her work explores emotional sonic soundscapes through live hardware, rhythm and melody. This is Aotearoa debut.

After a two year hiatus, we are back for our fifth edition, and syncing up with Small Projects for a special joint birthday!

First held in 2017, SYNC has become an annual tradition for the local electronic music-making community, featuring 100% live sets, stacked with drum machines, synths, modules and beyond.

Get ready to be transported to a different sonic dimension. This year's line-up features 7 electronic artists with music spanning modular space jams to 4/4 workouts, dubstep and real-time machine transmissions.

SYNC and Small Projects go way back - with Zhuoling (Small Projects founder) and Kaishandao (SYNC founder) hosting the first event together over seven years ago. This Sat 20 October, we will celebrate the big 5 together!

We hope to see all those who have supported us, as well as new faces and music lovers from far and wide!

SYNC回归了！这项一年一度的硬件电子音乐展演活动，起始于2017年，逐渐成为成都本土电子音乐制作群体的年度交流盛会。用鼓机，合成器，模块等硬件设备构筑的100%的现场演绎和交流，曾给予参与的音乐人和观众很多赞叹和启发。SYNC历经4年后遭遇疫情而中断，而今终于有机会迎来SYNC 5！恰逢小计划的5周年纪念日，我们将这两件值得庆贺的事情合而为一，在10月20日为大家送上一份金秋音乐大礼～

SYNC与小计划Small Projects有紧密的关联，除了小计划创建人卓玲本身也是SYNC的发起人和常客之外，“小计划”也着重致力于独立电子音乐相关的活动。从2018年创建至今，“小计划”主办或参与了包括自由即兴，实验音乐，氛围音乐节，电子跳舞派对，世界音乐，配乐诗会等各色各样的活动，努力成为一个小而精的文化传播平台。在这场特别的SYNC 5+小计划5周年的生日party上，希望能见到一直给予我们支持的各位，以及更多对音乐充满真挚和热情的新面孔
