Release Conference Successfully Held for the Tencent King Card Jointly Launched by China Unicom and Yunyobo
On April 8th, “Cloud-Connected World – China Chip Project” and the release conference of the Tencent King Card, jointly launched by China Unicom and Yunyobo, were held at Zhejiang International Film and Television Center. Over 300 representatives, including leaders from China Unicom provincial and municipal subsidiaries, the Hangzhou Branch of Ping An Bank, the ICBC head office credit card department, and Zheshang Securities, partners from the tourism, insurance and other industries, and distribution channel agents from across China, attended the conference and saw as the free-roaming international SIM card was released to the world.
Yunyobo’s Tencent King Card is a free-roaming international SIM card jointly launched by China Unicom and the integrated global communication service provider Yunyobo (Beijing) Communications Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yunyobo). The card combines the advantages of the domestic Tencent King Card – a number of unlimited-data apps and ultra-low tariff packages, and Yunyobo’s access to free-roaming communication overseas. That is to say, this single card enables users to surf the Internet without roaming charges at home and even abroad, providing them with a pleasant experience.
This international free-roaming telecom product launched by the two giants not only meets the needs of Chinese people for roaming-free communication overseas, but is also compatible with a variety of mobile phones from all over the world. It is a genuine global universal card. No matter which country users are from, they can easily subscribe to local communication services by using this card, and bid farewell to high roaming charges and inconvenience. It is expected that everyone in the world will choose such an international card, making it an overwhelming trend moving forward.
At the conference, Yunyobo's Tencent King Card was officially launched. The launching ceremony was attended by Mr. Huang Wenliang, China Unicom’s Chief Innovation Officer and General Manager of the E-commerce Department; Ms. He Haiyan, General Manager of Internet Department of China Unicom, Zhejiang Branch; Mr. Shi Bo, President of Ping An Bank, Hangzhou Branch; Mr. Zhang Rongchang, Chairman of Zhejiang Yitong Communication Technology Co., Ltd.; Mr. Cheng Huagang and Mr. Hu Lan, founders of Yunyobo. At the conference, representatives from channel partners, the tourism, banking, and insurance industries demonstrated their confidence in the success of Yunyobo’s Tencent King Card and reached strategic cooperation agreements with Yunyobo.
Mr. Huang Wenliang, China Unicom’s Chief Innovation Officer and General Manager of their E-commerce Department, said at the press conference that China Unicom, as a state-owned enterprise, was the only company that had implemented mixed-ownership reforms across the whole group. Well-known Internet companies such as Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba, JD, and Didi all joined China Unicom's reforms. Previously, China Unicom and Tencent launched the Tencent King Card, which attracted 122 million users in just two years. As the world has continued to open up and the living standards of Chinese residents have continued to be improved, China Unicom did not have any product that was able to address the difficulties users faced in internet use and communication overseas. In cooperating with Yunyobo, China Unicom could provide Tencent King Card users with a solution. Mr. Huang expressed his strong confidence in the future of Yunyobo’s Tencent King Card and wished Yunyobo’s Tencent project a great success.
The card, issued globally, can help China Unicom to enlarge its user service scope beyond national boundaries so as to have opportunities to develop new users from the 7 billion people worldwide. In the process of establishing a borderless integrated communication service, China Unicom is expected to become the largest mobile operator in the world.
