World day to fight against crimes committed against Journalists.

Cameroon has joined the rest of the world to commemorate world day of "End impunity for crimes against journalists" on Thursday 02 November 2023. Crimes committed against Journalists is one of the most important and complex challenges of recent times.

It is an essential precondition to guarantee freedom of expression and access to information for all citizens. Mohammadou Lawal a social activist and a member the Cameroon's Journalist trade union says" while commemorating this day, it is vital for the state to be cooperative with journalist by granting them free access to information which will enable them carry out their duties effectively".

The 2023 observance seeks to raise awareness of the main challenges faced by journalists and communicators in the exercise of their profession, and to warn of the escalation of violence and repression against them. These include attacks and restrictions on the press in the context of coverage of social protests; the use of judicial mechanisms against journalists for reasons related to their journalistic work on matters of public interest; and the increase of forced exile of journalists in some countries.

Another batch of students graduate from centre de promotion de la femme et de la famille in Nkongsamba

About 27 laureates have received their end of course attestations at "centre de formation de la femme et de la famille", a government vocational training institute in Nkongsamba, chief town of the Moungo Division on Wednesday November 1st 2023. In attendance was the Senior Divisional officer for the Moungo, the Divisional officer, the city Mayor, the mayor of Nkongsamba one two and three and the Divisional delegate of MINPROFF who handed over the attestations to the laureates.

The institute trains students who are 15 years and above in the domain of hotel industry and restaurants, pastry shop, office work and computing, fashion designing, hair dressing and esthetics.

During the ceremony, a fashion parade by current students was performed to showcase their designs. Students from the hair dressing field equally demonstrated hair styles that they have created. A sketch by students of the first year was performed to encourage youths in Nkongsamba who still think that hair dressing and tailoring are third party jobs to rethink .

In an interview granted to us by the Director of this institute madam Agnamo Adelaïde she encouraged all parents to enroll their children who wish to learn a handwork in their institute because the training they give is more of practice than theory.

100 percent children to be vaccinated in the Cameroon's national territory in the next three days.

The Cameroon's minister of public health Dr Manaouda Malachie has announced the second phase of vaccination against Polio Meningitis. He made the announcement in a radio communiqué on the 20th of October 2023.

The vaccination campaign which will run from the 3rd to the 5th of November 2023, comes after a polio case was diagnosed in Yaoundé, center region of Cameroon in June this year. In response, the minister organise series of campaigns to limit the propagation of the virus in children beyond five years of age.

This second phase of vaccination campaign concerns six out of 10 regions of Cameroon that are at high risk. They include; The Litoral Region, the Center Region, the West Region, the South West Region, North West Region and the South Region.

Polio Meningitis infects the body through the mouth while eating unhygienic food or drinking water that have been contaminated by the f***s of an infected person. As such the minister recommends that water should be boiled before drinking, wash all fruits and vegetables before eating, use latrines or water system toilets to pass out f***s, do not bath in stagnant water.

The population is hence called to be cooperative as a door to door campaign will be conducted in the days ahead.

Cameroon lost close to 44Billion FRS CFA to corruption in 2021.

This is according the the 2021 anti corruption status, published by the National anti corruption unit CONAC.

I have no problem with the paramount fon of NSO HRH Fon Mbinglo, going to Germany to bring back the historic statue of the founder of the NSO Fondom "NGONSO" .

Nonetheless, I have questions regarding where it's "the statue" going to be kept, given that the Fon has been away from his palace for so long and have no plans of going back anytime soon, given the circumstances under wish he left "fled".

Wait ! Or could this be a turning point in the lives of the NSO people?

Do you think the statue is going to cleanse the land and restore peace?

Do you think with the presence of this piece, separatist fighters in NSO are going to lay down their weapons?

Let's analyse this critically while we anticipate this historic piece.

Yaakii Bella, Witty Minstrel: Changing Stereotypes Through Entertainment Making NSO People Proud

People from Nso, a village in the Bui division, North West region of Cameroon are known for their accent which hinders them from pronouncing most English words correctly. This fact has caused stigma amongst them as they fear to express themselves in public.
Young boys and girls are scared to tell their peers where they come from.

This has been going on until some two outstanding young people from NSO; comedian Yaaki Bella and musical artist Witty Minstrel are changing this narrative bringing back lost trust.

She does not only make people laugh but many have testified how she changed their mindsets.

Witty Minstrel brought the spirit of I don't care how you perceive my accent when he says" we are proud" in his single. Many people repeat this sentence today because of the heavy message it carries.

How did Witty Minstrel and Yaakii Bella impact your life? Let's relate!!

Following a hike the prices of some alimentary products like cooking oil during this feasting period, the government figured out that this could be due to the fact that most of these products produced in Cameroon are exported

This eventually leads to decrease in supply and high demands hence increase in prices.

To remedy the situation, the government has suspended the exportation of these products. This was made public through a press release yesterday 27 of December.

Do you think we are going to have a fruitful new year following this communiquer ?

Some inhabitants of the North West regional capital, Bamenda have criticised the kidnapping of the president of the North West house of chiefs Fon YAKUM Kevin of Bambalang.

He has been held in captivity for one week now but alleged separatist fighters.

One of the inhabitants of Bamenda who spoke to us with request for anonymity explains that kidnapping a traditional authority is a taboo in their community. " It is a shame that it has gotten to a level where our traditional rulers are no longer respected. These people are our direct links to our ancestors and as such should be treated with respect".

Another inhabitant of Bamenda who hails from Bambalang describe the situation as regrettable " how can a Fon be held in captivity by the same people who claim to be protecting his subjects? Honnestly I think he should be released without any preconditions".

Fon YAKUM Kevin's kidnap is not an isolated case as many other traditional and religious authorities equally suffer the same fate

Every 20 May, Cameroon observes it's national day which is a public holiday. This day does not celebrate independence, for French Cameroon became independent on 1 January 1960. And in 1961, British Cameroon joined the new state, but it was not fully integrated. A kind of “federated” system existed that prevented full national unity of the two Cameroons. Everything changed on May 20, 1972, when the federated system was eliminated in favour of full national unity.
Now you know why we celebrate 20th May
