Music from the grassland regions of North West Cameroon is uniquely rhythmic, mostly in 4/4 and 6/8 time. Among these genres are: Njang, Mbaghalum, Mbaya, Asamba and Makossa. At Akumba Music, we seek to merge these styles with latin music, other World Music Genres and some Jazz too. Our Record Label and production house constitutes a team of like-minded musicians and Producers who collaboratively

work towards the goal of blending grassland rhythms from Northwest Cameroon with jazz and other world genres. We are privileged to be working talented musicians who share our common goal of producing beautiful Afro-world music with a west African influence.
