Who is to blame? Can the Diaspora come in as a panacea, or is the Film Industry in Cameroon (especially the English Speaking industry) a result of a premature birth that needs more time to get to maturity?

MOVIE (P)REVIEWS vs MOVIE CRITICISM

- form and express a judgement of (a literary or artistic work).
- indicate the faults of (someone or something) in a disapproving way

It's really pains when I sit and scroll through the walls on this blue app after a movie premiere and the whole world (producers,directors, actors) are expecting to see a great write up by some blogger or popular person on fb in the name of the MOVIE REVIEW.

Most works of arts in our country don't go through the process of criticism before release. For an artist to release a song, he needs to meet minds that matter and who drive the narrative in music industry directly or indirectly to have a say. As a matter of fact, multiple works of arts are brought so they could choose and also criticise before release. That way if changes need to be done, it's done and a proper product goes out and hits the mark.

Most at times after movie premieres, the review comes out as a criticism. Though both are slightly different. One comes to bring out the faults whilst the other says it as it is from no judgemental point of view.

From where I come from, most premiere dates are choosing whilst the movie is still being shot. At times the premiere happens with a non completed movie.

Why the rush for premieres ?
Why don't we have a film club that can objectively criticize your movie before its release?

Then now, who are movie reviewers? Do we have them in our country? Can you get to private screenings for your movie so they can take time and do a great REVIEW?
