SHOMEA in partnership with Amaan Africa will be having a 2 days FREE Digital Skills training on the 12th and 13th of April 2024 at CIBAEEVA Orphange Dschang West region, Cameroon.

Teaching orphans graphic design and content creation with Canva is a strategic move that aligns with the broader goal of empowering vulnerable populations in this digital age (SDG4).

SHOMEA's partnership with Amaan Africa in the "Digital Bridge and Mentorship for Orphans" project is an exemplary initiative that recognizes the transformative potential of digital literacy. It aims to equip orphans with valuable skills that can open up opportunities in today's technology-driven world, thereby fostering their independence and self-reliance.

In the digital era, proficiency in graphic design and content creation is not just about artistic expression; it's about acquiring a set of skills that are increasingly in demand across various sectors. For orphans, learning these skills can be particularly life-changing (SDG1).

Moreover, mastering platforms like Canva, which is user-friendly and accessible, makes it easier for them to showcase their creativity and engage with a global audience. This not only boosts their confidence but also enhances their employability (SDG8)giving them a competitive edge in the job market even if they cannot afford for such trainings due insufficient resources.

The project also emphasizes the importance of mentorship, which plays a crucial role in guiding orphans through their learning journey. After the training, we will provide personalized support, delegate a project lead at the orphanage to help navigate the challenges that come with learning something new.

They will practice constantly with the computer and internet connection donated by Shomea. We are not just teaching orphans how to use digital tools; they are connecting them with a world of possibilities, empowering them to envision and work towards a brighter future.

You can donate digital gadgets or cash to support DBMO project.

Digital Learning Day is celebrated on the last Thursday of February.

Digital learning has become increasingly prevalent in today's educational landscape due to the advancement of technology. Digital literacy plays a crucial role in this shift towards digital learning. It encompasses the ability to find, evaluate, utilize, share, and create content using digital technologies.

In the classroom, digital devices such as laptops, tablets, and interactive whiteboards have transformed the traditional learning environment, offering more interactive and engaging ways of teaching and learning.

To thrive in the modern workforce, individuals must possess digital skills that are essential for employability. These skills include proficiency in using software, digital communication, graphic design, critical thinking, content creation etc

Amaan Africa advocates for educational technology (Edtech) because we belief in the super power of this Digital age.

Digital learning has the potential to bridge the digital divide by providing access to education and resources for individuals in underserved communities of Africa.

This can help reduce disparities in educational opportunities and empower individuals with knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the modern world.

Digital culture refers to the norms, beliefs, values, and behaviors related to the use of digital technologies within a society.

African Youths and women should work towards building a digital footprint to leverage the opportunities offered by the digital age and contribute meaningfully to the digital economy in the AfCFTA

The International Day of Education is celebrated every year on January 24th. The goal of this day is to promote the importance of education for peace and development.

Education is a fundamental human right that should be accessible to all individuals regardless of their background or circumstances. In today's digital age, the internet has become an essential tool for advancing learning and providing access to educational resources.

Digital education, also known as EDTECH, is a rapidly growing field that seeks to use technology to enhance the learning experience and improve educational outcomes.Through online courses, virtual reality simulations, and interactive learning platforms, students can access educational content from anywhere in the world. This has the potential to revolutionize the way we approach education and make learning more accessible to people in remote or under-resourced areas like Cameroon.

To promote policies that improve EDTECH, governments and educational institutions must work together to invest in infrastructure, provide training for teachers, and ensure equitable access to technology. By doing so, we can help bridge the digital divide and ensure that all individuals have the opportunity to learn and grow.

Celebrating international Days is one of the best ways to carry out Advocacy. The UN has a yearly calendar of important events to remember, share our stories and challenges, brainstorm solutions and impact our various communities.

Today, we are Advocating for a better and quality Education for everyone (SDG4) .

By leveraging the power of the internet and advancing digital education, we can promote lasting peace and create a brighter future for generations to come.
