Life of an artiste.
The journey to fame is a scary path to walk especially here in our country.

We have seen artiste perform to themselves, we have seen artiste rent venues and chairs just to come and perform to the chairs and go back.

We have seen artiste perform in huge crowd and nobody give a damn attention to them or even feel impressed no matter the energy they put on stage.
“If you're a beginner or an up & coming artiste, do not abdicate or back down because of less attention. all you have to do is put in the work and stay focus. Strategise every single step you make and be sure it's worth it”

Note: I will keep saying this in this Industry. It's good at times to take a break and study what you were doing, if you feel like you were not doing good at all, rejuvenate your ideas And moves. it will help boast your career. 💯
And most importantly as a beginner, you don't have to put music first in this industry. Get something doing that will earn you some cash by the end of the day.💥 Don't hide behind 2 songs and die of ulcer.

IT WAS MADIKO'S WISH THAT THIS SONG BE RELEASED POSTHUMOUSLY.

Wake up this morning and received a notification from YouTube which says Wes Madiko just dropped a new song and I was like wow! really?

Without wasting much time, i rushed to YouTube to see what he left for us. After listening to this song, title “Sad moon” which features Paul Kwitek, I had to run out of my room cos the spirituality in the music will make you feel like you're listening to a spirit. Like I usually hear this kind of music when a king is living the earth. They chant it to transport his spirit to it's destination more too like sounds you will hear in some Bamilike shrines when places are quite 👿

When I checked the description on YouTube, I found this “During the recording of sad moon, Wes shared that he had been in touch with an African Bantu spirit that had passed this song to him”😲

That is what African music was at first. It was all about spirituality and a way of connecting reality and dreams together. Like you're not getting a single word but the music itself is speaking to your soul and that's who Wes Madiko of blessed memory was. Imagine his song I love football being used as an official anthem for the Los Angeles team and we begin to wonder if they do understand him. No but they connect to the music.

Just like Mr Leo advised his fans to listen to Lion of Africa album in a quite and open space with eyes closed, you can get a quite spot too for this one. cover your eyes and get your spirit transported to where you no fes know. lol ..

Like what the hell is happening here?

This has come to be one of the slowest song from Ko-C in terms of YouTube views considering the fact that It's an international collaboration.

Already 18 days and counting but still at 169k views meaning it will not clock 200k in one month and if it continues this way, it might take 6 months to clock 1 million views which is something I've not seen from him vis-à-vis his bikutsi hit songs.
It's making me to think foreign collaboration is just wastage of money but then, Blanche Baily is doing well with the chances.

Maybe his fans are finding it difficult to connect to the Amapiono because Chill his first Amapiono song is still at 1.4 million in morethan 1 year but 2 ouef spaghetti is morethan 4 million in just 2 months. Bikutsi is his thing. stick to it.

The long awaited Collaboration between Asaba and Mr Leo is finally out.

As we all listened to the audio on Boomplay off the Lighter EP by Asaba which dropped some couple of months ago, the song charger talks about someone dearly who came into the life of another person with electrical charges such as happiness, laughter, fun, goosebumps, smiles and most of all, JOY as in their daughter.

As we all know when it comes to another shots, He always tell the story with shots even without sound. From the screenshots bellow, you can see how they expressed old romance and how it used to be before. At the end, what caught our attention is the fact that Asaba is moving forward with JOY ( the charger according to the video concept) smiling while Mr Leo is like using tissue to wipe off his tears meaning he must be regretting to ever let them go and from my own point of view, I think the story is still to continue.

We are waiting for Part two of this story Mr Leo and Asaba.

Muziki vol 1. which is an EP from the Lion Academy students is one of the most criminally underated EPs in this country.

Five different artist came up with different songs to put together the EP and the energy there is too legit to go unnoticed. It features artist like Wal-T, Pecutie, Lohrist, Zaly Dakin, Kotto boy and the boss of Lion production itself.

My best song of the EP is “on ira” by Wal-T. The song talks about the beauty of motherland Africa. He was like telling somebody (a white) to come with him and enjoy the beauty of Malawi, Tanzania, Tchad. Thé different rivers and features in Africa in the best of mélodies and sweet vocals. Boy was on 🔥💚etc

Pecutie with fighter, Lohrist with Vanessa etc. It's just a combination of spirituality and magic.
Like guy are defending their Masters in Muzik in the academy so they were not playing with the songs. Vocals and melodic battle joined together in a single project 💥

THIRD AFRICAN TO RECEIVE THE POLAR MUSIC PRIZE.❗❗❗

Angélique Kidjo becomes the third artist from Africa to be awarded prestigious music prize.
Angélique Kpasseloko Hinto Hounsinou Kandjo Manta Zogbin Kidjo popularly know as Angelique kidjo or Africa's Premier diva is a Beninesse-French singer and performer. The 62 years five time Grammy winner have been instrumental in the music scene from the late 80s till date.

Seeing her receiving the Sweden's polar music honor which is one of the best honors across Europe is one of my best moment in the African entertainment industry. She joins two other legends to be the third African to receive this honor.

The first African to be honored by this Swedish award was our Mama Africa aka Miriam Makeba in 2002. Second to Legendary Youssu N'dour who received the honore in 2013 and now Angelique kidjo in 2023.

Angelique kidjo is one of those artist who have Successfully stand the test of time. She has done music and collaborated with artist of different Era like the Legendary Manu Dibango,Salif Keita, Oumou Sangaré and still in active service. work with old producers like Ekambi brilliant of Cameroon and her brother Oscar to working with young African producers like Rexxi and all. Seeing her name on almost every aspiring young Artist tracklist is just proves of how good she is.

She was on Burna boy's "African Giant" album, on Yemi Alade "Woman of steal", on Davido's "Timeless" and now on Stonebwoy's "5th Dimension" just to name a few. Her impact is always felt when ever she steps into collaboration with any artist because she treats music like she's defending a PhD in music. She also feature so many young artist in her 2022 Grammy winning album album "Mother nature" such as Mr Eazi, Sampa the great, Burna boy, Yemi Alade etc.

She deserves all the accolades from different generations. We're here to say congratulations to you ma'a.💥
With all these achievements but still humble, down to earth and associative. ❤️
