💪🏾
Every since my freestyle releases I've been getting a lot of messages and comments like
"You doing good music, but in the wrong country"
"Ei no fit ever blow for Camer"
"Your music is cool, if you could just add some Afro drums, some French and mboko pidgin then it'll be perfect"
A couple of weeks ago my team and I were talking about this at the studio.
About how unaccepting most of us are, especially of things we don't understand. We hold on to what is familiar so tightly and expect things and people to think, act, and do things a certain way to suit our egos. That is unacceptable.
I grew up listening to the Hip Hop greats; the Jay Z’s, the Kendricks, the J. Coles, etc They are my musical influences.
My music is a reflection of that influence, and my message is a reflection of me.
I choose to be me “Unapologetically.” I do not need to try to blend in because then, I won’t be my best self.
At the end of the day...
Rap Music is a Culture, an Art Movement
It's not limited by country or continent.
