PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MODERATOR SENDS PASTORS TO VISIT THE ABUSED CHILD IN DOUALA.
The moderator of the Presbyterian Church In Cameroon Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel has vehemently condemned the villainous act meted on the child by a pastor's wife. He has extended his compassion and concern to the abused child.
The Moderator has instructed that the child receives the best medical care at the Presbyterian Health Complex Bepanda in Douala for free.
He has also dispatched a high level delegation of three pastors to visit and console the victim at the hospital headed by the Synod Clerk of the PCC – the Rev. Miki Hans Abia, the Constitution Secretary – Rev. Bame Samuel Nji, and the Presbyterial Secretary for East Mungo South Presbytery – Rev. Ayuk Jones Ebot.
He urged all Pastors and PCC employees to adhere to the "Child safeguarding and Gender Framework" guidelines of the PCC, that was developed in 2018.
According to a message from the communication department of the Synod Office,
"The PCC upholds the belief that children are a gift from God and a blessing in countless ways. Yes the Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) Yet all correction must be done in love because as the Bible says, “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)
