Lionn Academy, in Partnership with Hivewire, is excited to announce a unique and enriching opportunity for music industry professionals: a 10-week internship in media and research focused on the vibrant and dynamic Cameroon and African music industry. This internship program is designed to provide participants with an immersive experience of the intricacies of the music market in Cameroon while honing their writing and communication skills.

Prerequisite
As a prerequisite, candidates are expected to possess a good level of proficiency in the English language, as effective communication is integral to success in this internship. A genuine interest in Cameroon and the African music industry is essential, as interns will delve deep into the cultural and business aspects of this diverse musical landscape.

The Lionn Academy and Hivewire teams value the power of well-crafted narratives. Therefore, prospective interns should demonstrate good writing abilities, as they will be tasked with producing two comprehensive essays on the Cameroon music market. These essays will serve as insightful analyses and be published on Hivewire, a platform focused on emerging music and rising music scenes in the industry. All credits for these published works will be attributed to the respective writers, offering participants a valuable opportunity to showcase their talents and expertise to a broader audience.

About the Program
Throughout the 10-week program, interns will conduct rigorous research, interview key industry players, and analyse trends within the Cameroon music market. The immersive experience aims to provide interns with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry from both artistic and business perspectives.

Participants will not only gain exposure to the intricacies of the Cameroon and African music scenes but also develop critical skills in crafting compelling narratives, conducting thorough research, and effectively communicating their findings to a global audience.

"La La" reminds us how much love transforms us and breaks down our barriers towards our loved ones. When two kindred spirits finally meet, it becomes difficult for one to live apart from the other.

La La is Askia's first single released under the Lionn Productions label, which she has been a part since January of this year. In this song the rapper expresses her love, sensual and feminine side without altering what makes her an exceptional rapper.

The first edition of the Academy (Cohort 1) was launched in September 2022, which consisted of a 3 months training for the 20 participants (10 for music performance, and 10 for Music Business). Five of the participants in the music performance training were then selected at the end to undergo a 1 month production residence program under the mentorship of Mr Leo, which concluded with the production of a musical album, and a music showcase in Douala and Yaounde.

This edition became a success thanks to partnership with The Canada High Commission in Cameroon, Local Youth Corner, Escale Bantoo, and the Mentorship of DJ Fredy Muks
