News has just come in that a blast at the Nkambe grandstand has resulted in several children being wounded and some feared dead.
At the moment of the explosion, secondary schools were participating in a march at the Nkambe Grand Stand. The most affected students are those from GSS Nyanji and Binshua.
Hospitals are off-limits for parents and teachers. Following an IED detonation during the 11th February parade, guests at the Nkambe Grand Stand were struck with panic.
Although multiple individuals sustained injuries, no group has claimed responsibility.
For the safety of the children, the military has successfully relocated some to the palace. Parents have been observed entering and exiting the palace in search of their children, while others have been permitted access to hospitals for the same purpose.
Security forces have reported the detection of another IED near the grandstand, prompting them to establish a cordon around the area in order to locate and deactivate it.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the D.O. of Bamenda II, Nicolas Manchang, along with several others, were kidnapped in the vicinity of Nseh Makop. Subsequently, the kidnappers transported him to Ngarbuh with the intention to cross over to Mbam.
Once they reached Ngarbuh, a decision was made to take a break. During the late hours of the night, the D.O managed to sneak away and accidentally fell into a ravine, resulting in injuries to his legs. Because they were unable to retrieve him, the kidnappers departed with the remaining captives.
The D.. then embarked on a trek until he arrived at Ntumbaw, where the military assumed responsibility for his safety. Later yesterday, he was airlifted to Bamenda via helicopter.
As for the other victims, they remain in captivity with no information available regarding their current location.

Warning against the rise in transport prices has been issued by the Minister of Commerce, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana. As a measure to address this issue, he has appealed to the presidents of driver trade unions to intervene and put an end to the unilateral increase in transportation fares implemented by some individuals. It has come to the Minister's attention that these drivers decided to increase their prices in response to the recent surge in fuel costs.
Luc Magloire emphasized that such actions contradict the agreements that were reached through mutual understanding. He highlighted that the government and syndicates had mutually agreed to thoroughly examine the effects of fuel price adjustments and explore possible solutions before considering any potential increase in transportation fares. The Minister stated that this process is currently ongoing, promoting a cooperative, dialogue-based approach built on trust and mutual understanding.
In addition, Luc Magloire added that there is no valid justification for the actions taken by the drivers who have already implemented these price changes without proper authorization. He warns that severe sanctions will be imposed on those who fail to comply with the agreed-upon regulations.

The remaining kidney, the left one, started having same stones issues. I have been everywhere with it, from one test to another, one minor surgery after the next.
