How to apply ?
Currently we are accepting ANY genre and bpm possible, aslong it contains electronic compounds in the majority of the track and the following criteria:
- a thick and "moving" bassline, use whatever you want to create it, for the best fatness we'd recommend either "U-HE Diva" or an analog Moog Synthesizer like the "Subsequent 25/37", maybe use the saturation plug in mentioned further within this post.
- all electronic and stab sounds should be made with "Vital"* or "Spire", you can leave them relatively cold, plucky and noisy if you want to, just make sure you apply the saturation plug in mentioned further within this post.
- all melodic and spheric sounds should be made with at least one of the following Synthesizers or Plug Ins: "U-HE Diva" / "Arturia Mini V3" / "Moog Minimoog VST" / "Steinberg Model-E"*/ "Brainworks bx_oberhausen" / "Disco DSP OB-Xd" / "TAL-BassLine-101"* or, if you're lucky enough to own one, use the analog synthesizer of one of the mentioned emulations.
- fatten all up with "SPL TwinTube", it's an excellent & superior tube saturation plug in which we are using on almost all of our sounds, sometimes more decent and sometimes more extensively - just to add some crisp and that special analog sounding warmth. Put this beast on a Diva or Mini V3 and enjoy the powerful warmth and thickness it gives to your sound.
- we know it's your music and so is your style of songwriting, so the following point is more of a recommendation than a criteria. Make sure you don't use basic chords that often, be brave and experimental with your writing and try to use extended chords like all the major7, sus2/sus4 things to sound more unique, organic and interesting. If you want to achieve that typical "Paint It Black" sound color, invert them or use just 3 notes of a major7/minor7 chord instead of 4.
- you can get as experimental or commercial with any gerne as much as you like, just keep it progressive.
