🌀 Abisso by Joseph Tagliabue 🌀
Subject To Restrictions Discs presents "Abisso" by Tagliabue. Inspired by the immeasurable depths of the abyss, the Milanese DJ and producer creates a dense and intense soundscape that evokes images of a submerged world of cosmic frequencies.
Prepare to dive into "Abisso", the latest sonic creation by the talented Joseph Tagliabue. An EP that defies the ordinary and captures attention from the very first moment, "Abisso" is a musical journey through four unreleased and completely different tracks. A1 explodes with the power of a half-time bomb, Joseph's trademark, while B1 amazes with a thrilling break that transforms into a progressive shaker perfect for the dancefloor. B2 restarts with another eruption of broken techno energy, and the EP closes with a post-peak-time electronic mantra that hypnotizes the listener in a suspended dimension. "Abisso" is a work that leaves no one indifferent, a sonic experience to be lived and carried away by.

⦿ Kraus is the Limit (Remixes) by Dâdalus & Bikarus ⦿
Saeko Killy, Jamie Paton, Andrei Rusu and Anastasia Zems remix "Kraus is the Limit" by the Zurich electronic-wave duo Dâdalus & Bikarus and take the original to new dimensions.
"Kraus is the Limit (Remixes)" preserves the raw energy and emotion of Dâdalus & Bikarus' live performances while introducing new textures. It is not merely a collection of remixes but an intimate experience that invites listeners to rediscover the original tracks through the lenses of Saeko Killy, Jamie Paton, Andrei Rusu and Anastasia Zems.
Saeko Killy translates Voran into a mesmerizingly timeless journey that is even more kraut-y and space-y. Jamie Paton brings his distinctive style to the table by adding laidback and dubby vibes to Gone and Youri Gagarine. Andrei Rusu strippes down Tous Tes Mensonges, creating a sonic whirlwind that takes the listener on an thrilling and hypnotic ride. Anastasia Zems' take on Voran lets us wallow in the depths of an acid abyss. A tripped-out experience is guaranteed.
Today, the single 'Voran (Saeko Killy Remix)' is out on all streaming platforms.

⦿ Earth by Anatolian Weapons ⦿
The Athenian producer Aggelos Baltas alias Anatolian Weapons captures on the album Earth the feeling of an optimistic future that grows on the soil of the sweet bitterness of the present and the past.
Under his pseudonym Anatolian Weapons, Baltas combines polyrhythmic percussion and wailing tones of Greek folk music with a thrilling and open Krautrock attitude. The album Earth takes us on a mystical journey through the northern Greek highlands, backed by Baltas' unique machine-assisted folk, infused with psychedelic drones and exuding an aura that is neither then nor now, neither there nor here. Instead, it exists in a small pocket of its own cosmos. A crossroads of dimensions. A mystical offering to nature and the divinities.
Baltas has explored and reframed various Greek scenes of yesteryear in the past, such as with his Fantastikoi Hxoi project, which created Krautrock mutations from 60s and 70s pop, but Earth is an even more far-reaching expedition. It is a folk reckoning with Greek musical traditions with a modern upgrade. The album reconstructs a sonic narrative of ancient traditions, enhanced with psychedelic and space-rock elements. In the reverb cycle, one hears a certain agrarian reinterpretation of the world, filled with harvest rituals and celestial incantations.
It is with great pleasure to welcome Anatolian Weapons to the label. During a longer stay in Athens, a friendship developed that led to a variety of musical projects and ideas. One of them is the release of the album Earth.

About the artist
The shared musical passion and desire to work together on various projects have developed a friendship over the past year. It is therefore a great pleasure to release the EP White Series #3 by Bik aka Tankwart on Subject To Restrictions Discs!
Tankwart hails from the basement. The place where it can get beautifully cold and dark when being on your own, or warm and sweaty when dancing with friends. You'll find him in his studio: an enormous mess that fosters his DIY production style. His musical interest starts when genres blend and punk is an approach. Wave, Triphop, Acid, Kosmische Musik. No cliches, blurred lines only.
Tankwart joins the STRD roster on 1 September with the release 'White Series #3'.
👀 The vinyl delivery arrived early. Take it as a reminder…
More goodies coming to our shop tomorrow for Bandcamp Friday. Don’t sleep!
It's time to properly announce the upcoming release!
⦿ White Series #3 by Tankwart ⦿
The White Series continues after a little pit stop. Tankwart is at the start with four tracks of wave, triphop and kraut and leads us into a cosmic slipstream. As one half of Dâdalus & Bikarus he is already known to us and now shows a more danceable side of his productions. Tankwart is known around here for his versatile DJ sets, which always surprise us with a pinch of the unexpected. We also find this in his music - Tankwart gives the supposedly familiar a new and sparkling twist.

Today we celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Kamiokande by Angelo Repetto!
Angelo Repetto was the first artist to get in touch and send me demos of an album he had produced together with drummer Nicola Stocker. At that moment it was a kind of surprise because the first release on Subject To Restrictions Discs hadn't come out yet. But Angelo somehow felt that it was right to get in touch with me, and he was right. After a small exchange of emails and a long conversation over coffee, a friendship and two releases were born.
For Kamiokande (which was supposed to be called Super Kamiokande, but somehow the "super" got lost in the process) I sent Angelo back to the studio because I didn't feel ready to release an album as the third or fourth release on the newly founded label. So I requested an ep before we started working on the release of the album. The music was finished quickly - probably motivated and full of creative energy because of the fact that the album would be released soon afterwards. The process of how the music found its way onto the final record is a story in itself, but we'll save that for another time – just this: Angelo's studio didn't look the same afterwards.
I am very proud of this release. To me, it still sounds as fresh as the moment it was released.

About the artist
Two years ago, Anna and I met on a rooftop in Athens and a friendship and musical projects grew out of it.
Anna Vs June is the solo project of Anna Papaioannou, a musician and producer who enjoys playing with machines in her room in the heart of Athens. Her sound aims to capture the balance between electronic and traditional music by also incorporating Eastern and Western music references.
For her music production, she travelled to remote rural villages and recorded songs by locals while practising microtonal gestures with her own voice. Anna released her debut album Prosper Easter in 2020 and has been featured on compilations by labels such as Invisible Inc, Osàre! Editions as well as on the "Elsewhere" series curated by soFa.
Anna Vs June joins the STRD roster on 7 July with the release 'Ersi'.

In fact, it wasn't that long ago when we invited Heap to a label night at Kapitel Bollwerk in Berne. Of course, we already knew the bustling Viennese. His label NEUBAU, which he founded in 2015 and now runs with his friend Bocksrucker, needs no introduction. With it, they stand for electronic music from Vienna and actively shape the local scene.
I think it's fair to say that we got on like a house on fire right from the start. Our enthusiasm for leftfield and murky music is common ground and is complemented by our shared passion for running a record label. The exchange we have maintained since then has been extremely enriching and it is therefore all the more a great pleasure that Heap has sent us a selection of his favourite music.
Four years ago 'Kampf Der Welten' was released. It marked the beginning of the label and laid the foundation for everything that was about to come.
'Kampf Der Welten' is a selection of six tracks from the ‘Autumn Tape’ compilation released on Tóxico, a tape label initiated by Narco Marco from Bern. Only 70 tapes were produced and almost fell into oblivion. I’m more than grateful for the trust Narco Marco placed in me and that he gave me the freedom to compile music from the Tóxico catalogue.
The compiled music of the artists Cclinic, L.D.R, B. M. Cinelli, Neu Verboten and 486SX represents the musical direction of Subject To Restrictions Discs until today. With an eye on the dancefloor, but always between genres.
I would also like to thank all those who have accompanied and supported the label over the past years.

⦿ Ersi by Anna Vs June ⦿
"As I walk between the shadows I can see my full light" is the mantra and story Anna Vs June tells on "Ersi", her debut on Subject To Restrictions Discs. It is about personal thoughts and experiences on topics like faith and motherhood. Beginning with "As I Walk" as the clumsy state of any beginning, it continues with "Between The Shadows" where Anna relives her years as a teenager. Continuing the narrative with "I Can See", we listen to what it was like to grow up, finally ending with the yearning acceptance of the unknown on "My Full Light". Anna Vs June's musical language is based on her exploration of traditional Greek music, which she learns and whose characteristics she reinterprets in her own production. This album was produced in Anna's studio in Athens during the months of lockdown.

From today you can stream the Anatolian Weapons remix of Anna Vs June's 'I Can See' on all platforms!
Aggelos Baltas (Άγγελος Μπαλτάς), better known as Anatolian Weapons, was a close companion in the making of Anna Vs June's upcoming album "Ersi". But not only that, he also created a remix in which he stripped down the song in his typical style, flattened it and gave it a straight beat. From the beginning to the end of the remix, which is over 9 minutes long, a high level of tension is maintained, only to be broken up again and rebuilt.
The Album 'Ersi' by Anna Vs June is expected to be released on Vinyl and Digital in early July.

Maura Lombardo curated our May Spotify list.

Just last summer, Maura Lombardo and I met during Alpodrom Festival at the foot of the Bernese Alps. It quickly became clear that we share a wide range of musical tastes and only a short time later she showed this with a great set on one of the stages. It was clear that Maura should soon play at one of our label nights at the Kauz.
Maura Lombardo settled in Geneva a few years ago after living in Zurich for a while. Her music ranges from techno, electro, breaks and trance to EBM and new beat. On 13.05. after Gamma Intel she will play the closing of our label night at Kauz. As a foretaste, she has curated our monthly Spotify playlist – as expected versatile good!
Coming up next on STRD!
After his debut EP, Don Kashew delivers his first album on Subject To Restrictions Discs, a conceptual work in which he discovers "Reibung" as a core concept of musical expression.
A loudspeaker causes the molecules of the air to vibrate. Friction occurs and the sound spreads out in the room. Physically, friction is at the beginning of every sound. At the same time, the metaphor of friction describes the core of musical creation. As such, creation is always defined by its reference as well as its demarcation from existing artistic and social positions. In a sense, music is always rubbing against itself, its past and its environment, constantly being honed into new forms.
With "Reibung", Don Kashew explores friction as a basic principle of musical expression. Inspired by the avant-rock and experimental music scene of the 80s around the Zurich record label "RecRec Music", techniques are used whose core is the friction of sounds: dissonances, phasing or the preparation of instruments. These techniques are complemented by sampling and recombination of musical forms, existing music and cultural audio products. The idea of "Reibung" is thus at the heart of the production of musical expression.

It feels good to say that Kraus is the Limit by Dâdalus & Bikarus has officially been released and is ready to be spun, watched or streamed!
To celebrate, we are happy to share the video that Alicia Carrera created to visualise the track "Youri Gagarine". We are more than grateful, thank you for your massive support!
About the artist
Dâdalus & Bikarus – Two friends on a psychodynamic trip through the circuits of their gear and soundscapes that think of early electronics, kraut, wave and trip-hop. The Zurich-based musicians David & Bik combine repetitive machinery with bass guitar, synths and vocals. Expect a table full of wires and a sound that touches various places and moods: from rough sketches to warm timbres.
The duo from Zurich has been playing clubs and festivals in Switzerland for quite some time. The fact that the two are already wowing audiences before their first release makes their upcoming record a long-awaited work.
Dâdalus & Bikarus join the STRD roster on 21 April with the release 'Kraus is the Limit'.
