More than seeing an exhibition in its singular form, perhaps the most intriguing task of being part of a discourse is following how an artistic practice produces different meanings over time, and how it responds to an ever-changing cultural context. In a piece which was initially published in issue #27 of zweikommasieben in May 2023, turned his attention to the engagement of healing and care within cultural production. He explores the ways in which repair can take on a physical form through the work “New Moon” by Amsterdam-based artist duo , which was commissioned by and as the stage design for their project in 2022. The text can now be read online, ahead of the upcoming Dekmantel Festival in Amsterdam. At , Children of the Light will once again be responsible for a stage design: The Loop, in its all-encompassing and circular significance, will be the festival’s glowing center.

This year, Dekmantel Festival turns ten. Accordingly, the line-up is stacked with artists from the past, present and future of electronic music featuring legacy acts, rising talents and many of the scene’s most intriguing actors. The festival also emphasises the varied qualities and depth of Amsterdam’s local music scene, which we want to honour by publishing a piece from issue #27 of our print magazine ahead of the festival. Last year, met .1991 in Amsterdam to learn more about her multi-faceted practice, diving deep into the well that is Bea’s artistic universe. Coincidentally (or not), both, Bea1991 and Jasmin Hoek, under her DJ-alias Jasmín, will perform at this year. You can read the piece on our homepage now and we will see you in Holland soon!

The is around the corner and the line-up for this year’s edition, which takes place from June 13 to 15, is simply amazing! From , and & Band to , and to .fcy , and .band —the program is diverse and has quite some overlaps with the history of our magazine. Four artists who have appeared in previous editions— , , , and —will make an appearance at the festival just outside of Lucerne. In order to shorten (and sweeten? 🤔) the wait until the festival begins, we are re-publishing some of the interviews in question on our website. Embedded in a highly creative environment in Northern Italy, producer and DJ Luigi Guadagnino just released his latest EP under his guise 🐉 In early November 2023, , the label-arm of Italian graphic design enterprise , published Energy Control, which not only offers a wild ride when it comes to musical influences—it nods to pretty much every genre on the hardcore continuum—but also refers to different periods of time: the past, the present, the future, and beyond 💊 A couple of days after the EP’s release, reached out to Guadagnino to briefly discuss the various influences that coined Energy Control.
