Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Disables Two Major Features from Ranked Play
Raven Software has announced that it has disabled proximity voice chat and global text chat features from Call of Duty: Warzone 2 ranked play, meaning players won't be able to communicate with their teammates and enemies in the game. Restrictions in Warzone 2 ranked play have previously been expanded with the removal of Cluster Mine and Bomb Drone killstreaks. The reaction from players to this decision was overwhelmingly positive, with some claiming that the developers have done a great job of keeping the game balanced.
Warzone 2 sets itself apart from its predecessor by introducing new gameplay features and changes, such as the addition of third-person playlists, the reworked 2v2 Gulag mode, and different loadouts. Other features like split gas circles and the DMZ mode in Warzone 2 also offer players a casual fun experience. Proximity voice chat is one of these neat features, allowing players to talk to their teammates who are nearby on the map. Although this communication tool may be used to create immersive interactions, many players think it has increased the level of toxicity in the game.
Raven Software has announced that it has taken proximity voice chat and global text chat out of Warzone 2 ranked play. No specific reason for disabling these features has been provided. The developers said the decision was made upon further consideration with Treyarch Studios. Now, players won't be able to hear and talk to their teammates and enemies in ranked matches. In the comments, the reaction to this decision was overwhelmingly positive. But not everyone is happy with the removal of these features, and some players argue that Raven Software also removed a fun aspect of the game.
