Things I wish I had learnt when I was younger: fad diets don’t work in the long run. starving yourself/cutting out food groups isn’t healthy. you don’t need your heart rate to go the roof to mean you’ve “worked out”. exercise doesn’t have to be something you hate. your body craves and thrives with lots of wholesome food for fuel. LIFTING WEIGHTS ISN’T JUST FOR BIG BOY BODYBUILDERS.
Learning that constantly restricting yourself in order to “look and feel better” probably isn’t the correct path has been such an eye opener for me. Diet culture has been made to be so complicated - but it turns out it’s simple.
🤝 Fuel your body with good, wholesome food, eat your protein, eat your micronutrients, hydrate & move your body in a way you enjoy and you will feel (and see) results. Restricting yourself and constantly hating your body will make you miserable. Treat it with love, allow yourself time, show yourself commitment and compassion and you will feel a spark coming back. I promise.
