US-CA: Incredible footage has captured the moment a tree split in half after being struck by lightning on Saturday, July 31, inside the San Bernardino National Forest in southern California.
The Jeffery pine splits in half after reportedly being struck twice by lightning while plumes of smoke and embers rise up from the flames.
“It was a gorgeous 200+ year old healthy tree that had an unlucky day,” said Michael Bogan, who filmed the footage.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames from several lightning strikes and took down the scorched tree on Sunday, according to the San Bernardino National Forest.
