Last week MDPI Korea traveled to the Chungcheongdo province to visit several scholars who contribute to Sustainability MDPI! (https://brnw.ch/21wQbVd)

Our Korea team had the privilege of meeting Prof. Dr. Joosung Lee (pictured below) of Soonchunhyang University, a Topical Advisory Panel member of Sustainability. He had a positive stance towards open access and its merits, and recognized that many publishers, including MDPI, are embracing the shift to this form of publishing. Specifically, he recognized that one of the biggest advantages of open access in the realm of sustainability is the speed and effectiveness with which research is disseminated.

Korea team also visited Prof. Dr. Sehyun Tak of the Korea Transport Institute(KOTI), a Guest Editor who is leading a Special Issue in our journal. He informed us that his field of research (transportation, AI, intelligent transportation systems) is rapidly changing, so MDPI’s fast publication process and high visibility is a great strength. He also gave us suggestions for a different type of Special Issue that covers shorter papers, such as proceedings papers.

Thank to Professors Lee and Tak for time and advices!
