ScrappyBlue Quilts

ScrappyBlue Quilts Professional Hand Quilter http://www.scrappyblue.com I started quilting in 1996 when I saw a magazine with a Grandmother's Fan quilt on the cover.

That became my first quilt, not exactly a good beginners choice. It seems like hand quilting is becoming a dying art, but I've never done anything else. I do most of my piecing by machine, though when the mood strikes I have been known to hand piece as well. I also do all of my appliqué by hand. I sell quilts from here, and my website at www.scrappyblue.com, as well as on ebay. I custom make quilt

s per order, in any size, pattern, or colours requested. I'm also a "hit quilter", a hand quilter for hire ... I get a lot of work locally from people who have made the top of their quilt but need it hand quilted.

I’ve been busy making lobster wallhangings and JOY runners in time for the Congrés Mondial Acadien.

I have a number of JOY runners done in Acadian colours, lobster prints, or Nova Scotia tartan… as well as a blue Anchor runner. Lobsters are in red, blue, Acadian, and tartan!

Check out these and many other locally made items at the Argyle Archives Courthouse gift shop in Tusket.

Our Story

I started quilting in 1998 when I saw a magazine with a Grandmother's Fan quilt on the cover. That became my first quilt, I still have the magazine in my collection. It seems like hand quilting is becoming a dying art, but I've never done anything else. I do most of my piecing by machine, though when the mood strikes I have been known to hand piece as well. I also do all of my appliqué by hand.

I sell quilts from here, and my website at www.scrappyblue.com, as well as on ebay and facebook marketplace. I custom make quilts per order, in any size, pattern, or colours requested plus I make some of my own design. I'm also a "hit quilter", a hand quilter for hire ... I get a lot of work from people all over Canada and the U.S. who have made the top of their quilt but want it professionally hand quilted.

I’ve been designing my own quilts for several years and currently have a few patterns available for purchase. Since Covid-19 I’ve branched out into making non-medical face masks, both the pleated kind and a shaped version, both of which I designed myself.
