Sometimes, it just takes a little time ✨

You can post at the right time, every day, use the best hashtags, do an Instagram story every day, but your account just needs time and consistency

I don’t mean a few days, or even a few weeks.. it takes months or sometimes years, which is why you need to show up for the right reasons, know your why & your worth

This week has been an incredibly difficult one for our community but I’ve been reminded, it’s important to celebrate Indigenous Joy as well ✨

The real history of this place we call home is being uncovered and it will continue to present itself,

Hi friends,

As you may have seen the Manitoba Government put some new restrictions up for the month of May;

If you had an indoor studio shoot scheduled with me for the Month of May, I will be emailing you Monday to reschedule!

For those with outdoor shoots for the month of May, i will continue to be masked as always and no changes will be made to outdoor shoots.

As sad as I am to be going into a “third” lockdown, I think this is what we have to do to hopefully have a better and more safe June and Summer!

Outdoor Shoots! 🕊✨

If you’re worried about shooting in a studio or if you don’t have the budget for a studio outdoor shoots are always a great option!

The scenery in Winnipeg just keeps getting better as the weather gets warmer:
- the exchange for tall buildings, parking lots
- fields and forests for nature shots
- tennis courts for fun!
- public parks for florals and paths
- the beach for water and sand (soon hehe)

A conversation I’ve been having a lot lately is the importance of prioritizing rest and time to recharge!

So it felt fitting to make a post today before the long weekend and remind you, it’s more than okay to rest, to take a break from work, in fact it’s important!

After I take a break whether it’s a 10 minute stretch in between meetings, a walk outside or a weekend off - I always come back so much more refreshed, focused and ready!

4 IG TIPS FOR YOU TO REMEMBER

- Be authentic to yourself and your brand

- Don’t compare yourself to anyone (online or offline) sure there can be 100 people offering what you’re offering but no one is YOU

- Make genuine connections and relationships online! People are more willing to support and purchase from you if they know you, don’t be afraid to get to know your audience and customers!

4. Don’t take yourself so seriously, have fun! I give a lot of tips but theres no right or wrong way to grow and show up online. You’re doing amazing. 🤍

Always love close ups to bring a different perspective to your feed and make some breathing room -

If your feeling like your content is busy or all the same try different shots:
- close up
- birds eye
- full body shot
- portrait

There are so many ways to take a photo of one product so that your content isn’t all the same.

Although I miss shooting actual humans SO MUCH.. The optimist in me likes to see the positives in life so, here are a few reasons why shooting products can be more fun than people:

- they don’t blink, therefore less awkward outtakes
- they don’t judge me when I make dad jokes
- they’re never late (ooo I went there)
- I can wear my pjs and shoot in my office and nobody will know
- they can be put in a box and dropped off on my doorstep for me to be able to still work! 📸

Okay that’s all I can think of.. Humans really are more fun 😂
