It’s officially September, which means it’s International Underground Railroad Month!

Since 2019, states across the country have declared September as International Underground Railroad Month in an effort to highlight and bring awareness to the Underground Railroad stories in the United States and beyond.

This month, the Network to Freedom program will collaborate with Network to Freedom listings, and National Park sites to highlight the individuals and Underground Railroad stories that make up our diverse Network members. Our Network staff will attend and speak at different events and we will collaborate with special speakers in a series of virtual Web Chats.

Be on the lookout to our social media pages as we announce upcoming events and highlight the histories of the Underground Railroad.
