EPISODE 17: Honour The Badge But Fear The Slasher

This week, we take time to honour Windsor Police badge #6744.

Senior Constable John Atkinson gave the ultimate sacrifice on May 5, 2006 while approaching two drug dealers at a convenience store in the East end.

Constable Atkinson was a 14-year-veteran with Windsor Police. 5,000 law enforcement officers from across Canada attended his funeral six days later, one of the biggest in the Windsor’s history.

We recently passed the 15 year anniversary of this tragedy. We must NEVER forget the sacrifice Constable Atkinson gave so we can live and be safe in our great city.

For our second story, we go back to 1945 Windsor, where citizens are hopped up on post-war excitement and the streets are lined with gambling and prostitution houses. We investigate a series of attacks and murders which lead to the arrest of one of Windsor’s first serial killers.
