Did not get a chance to play golf in the DR..but couldn't resist the beautiful 11 degree day today, with sunshine and no wind or rain!!! Seriously the most perfect day!!! Glacier Greens golf course is in amazing shape...no mucking around nor did the balls plug..the greens were super fast too, but I guess 3.5 weeks off will not help in that department!! My lined pants and toque were too warm, and a single long shirt would have been enough with the vest..Please let Sat be this nice!!!!

Well Nov 2 and wow we got another break between systems .. like yesterday I don't think it stopped raining at all till after 8pm..and dark!!! That's an understatement!!! Today, a whole other day!!! It might not have been blue sky sunny, but it was dry and still!!! The sun peeped through on #2 enough to say that only a single layer and or short sleeve shirt was fine.. my lined pants were too warm for 17 holes for sure.. We felt a drop on #18 on our 3rd shots..and made it in by the time the light sprinkle started..We hope next Saturday is just as good!!!!!!!!! There was a pumpkin smash happening at the airport tower .it sounded like guns going off..missed it on video:(

A perfect October day for golf..it was almost too warm when the sun was fully out .I forgot the short sleeve shirt layer, but survived.. A fabulous day with my hole #5 friend♥️

The calm between the storms...we had an atmospheric pressure storm come through yesterday..lots of rain and high winds..today's forecast was not looking so good last night, and another system coming through Sunday.. but looked like a break from 10 - 3..of course always a chance for anything to happen, and as I drove into the course with a sprinkle here and there and an almost empty parking lot, was worried the course was closed..NOPE.. Deb was on the practise range and soon Darrel showed up..a player from Hamilton was out to play so he joined us on the empty course.. NOT a single drop of rain or not much wind..it actually got too warm and the sun popped through.. this golf course always surprises us with it's micro climate !!!! A perfect fall day of golf❤️

Golfing in the fall is so beautiful!!! It was 18 degrees today..could of worn a skort!!! The clear sky and bright leaf colors that are coming out are so spectacular.. it's probably the last really sunny warm day for a while..but we'll see :):)

Back golfing after 13 days off due to stitches...missed the iffy end of September weather to come back to some beautiful fall weather..welcome October..let the colors change!!! It's hard to know what to wear..and what layer in order to wear 😂 Oscar and Louis had a day of sleeping..they didn't move from 7am to at least 530.. wish I could get that much sleep!!!

2 years ago today I took a pasta making class in Frascati, Italy.. today I took a Cantonese style authentic Wonton making class here in Courtenay from Tania Ly at Gold Phoenix Asian Foods
What an amazing class this was and I highly recommend her classes . Today we made Cantonese style Wonton Consomme, Lettuce Bowls, Pork & Black Ear Mushroom Wontons, and Spicy Shallot & Sichuan Pepper Sauce . Linda is so passionate and her teaching method makes it so simple.. She also educates you on the ingredients, their health benefits as well as the history of the food
I can't wait to take another class!!!

Monday we played Mt Breton golf course in Chemainus, BC for the Zone 6 Champion of Champions Tournament.. what a beautiful day and course!! A definite Island hidden gem ❤️ lots of raised greens, old growth trees all over some fairways, so it has it challenges.. Bev from our club won 2nd low Gross and some snips as well as my cart mate Gi won a low gross of prize and a snip..a great day for Glacier Greens.

The Fore Players, a mixed team for the Whistlestop Golf Tournament slayed the 9 hole scramble like pros..
We birdied our first 2 holes with complete team effort. Then the down poor of rain made things a bit interesting..but we managed to keep getting Pars..thankfully as we were worried about running out of 🐦 juice:). Luc our 4th player forgot his golf shoes, so he took his flip flops off to tee off, barefoot in the rain he drove that ball huge!!! After at the pub we enjoyed a delicious steak BBQ, drinks, and some great music to dance too.

Final day of our club championship.. again played with 2 lovely ladies..it was great all encouraging each other!! I was tired from yesterday but managed to pull off 1st low net.. I think I'm still in shock..it was a great weekend 🥰🏌️

Played our 1st day of the Club Championship...the course and greens were immaculate..played with 2 lovely ladies... Now before we started they gave us the pin placement sheet and an education of how to read it .UM ..yeah forgot how that went after hole 1 ...like I'm just get on the green player and hopefully putt well.. like +2 or -5 changes clubs for me .lol NOT..looked like a science of project 🤣
Pretty good day apart from the blow out on #6.. we will try to forget that hole!!!! Let's see what tomorrow brings 🏌️❤️

After a relaxing morning at the pool we did our 2nd wine tour in 39 degree weather, it was another fantastic day with Bob our tour guide.. He picked some smaller wineries which each in themselves were unique..he gave us a little info about each winery, their history, the owners, and what makes them special.
We visited Over The Fence, Bartier Bros, Rainmaker, Nostalgia, and Vin Amite. Had a lovely dinner at Tinhorn.

What an awesome afternoon with Randy our tour guide visiting some wineries in the Oysoyoos and Oliver area.. We started at Domaine Artema the former Desert Hills, then on to a favorite Burrowing Owl.. the suggested Silver and Sage was a pleasant surprise with their fruit wine and interesting twists, like a hot pepper desert wine? It was hot!!! This winery is a definite must see when visiting here.. Here It Is, Hester Creek and a stop at Tinhorn for lunch then Kismet to finish the day in the 41 degrees of heat!!! Back to the Westridge Motor Inn to their lovely pool to BBQ some wings..if you are staying in this area this motel is a gem, clean, renovated, super friendly and lots of amenities to make a trip comfortable!!!
Looking forward to what the next tour brings❤️
