Sometimes, the photography gods smile down on you with a gift.

Beyond grateful to have captured this amazing image tonight. As I whipped out my camera and ran to shoot several frames of this awesome story, I could hear people behind me laughing, realizing this was a funny scene worth capturing.

Was hired by Grant Thornton to shoot an editorial for a magazine - article about digital forensics. Intense stuff.

Initially they were going to submit a headshot to the magazine, but then realized this was the perfect opportunity to tell a story visually.

The way I see it, I want to pull the reader in with the photo. And even if they don't read the article, I read it for them and spit it back out as a single photo.

So digital forensics...they took me to the lab and the idea I had was the stage a CSI style crime scene with yellow tape and use some blue and red gels to echo police sirens.

I love when, not only do my clients trust my creative, but seek me out to get it.

Great range...from spooky to out-of-place and everything in between, this was a super fun shoot.

I want to share a story about Silver Linings; a lesson I learned from @the.heylu "Nothing has happened TO YOU, everything has happened FOR YOU." This summer our basement flooded...like catastrophic 14" of water...total nightmare. We had to throw out so much stuff, replace so much equipment...a nightmare. But during the process, there was alot of "well, we've been meaning to throw this thing out and get rid of that thing" ... When all was said and done, we had moved our office to the second floor, which is way nicer and has a window, our kids now have a dedicated games room, and the spare room full of junk is now a 🔥 portrait studio. Very excited to share this sweet 30 second spot I shot for @the.heylu. Stretched some fun cinematographer muscles with lens choice and the use of a nylon sock and a projector, to portray that dreamy ethereal quality. Loving the warm colour tones as well....not to mention how much visuals we could pack in under 30seconds.
