Pupdate 🐾 on Salem

X-rays confirmed that she has a complete CCL rupture, the vet explained that there’s basically nothing holding the bottom of her leg together. I feel so awful for her. 💔😭

Salem will be going in for TPLO surgery on Thursday morning with the specialist & I currently have lots of pain meds for her until then.

Thank you all for your love & support during these heartbreaking (& expensive) times.

I am so heartbroken 💔 to share that our ADHD mascot Salem is likely in need of surgery.

She has had a small limp with activity and the last week has had loss of function of her leg & very depressed.

She is currently at the vet undergoing sedation & xrays, but the vet showed me her leg and it’s was completely detatched compared to her other one. 😭

The vet is currently doing the scans to confirm that surgery will be 99% likely to fix the torn ligament, and best case scenario she will just need pain meds (he believes it’s completely torn though).

I am not asking for money, but a simple comment/react/share or even kind words & thoughts would help our family exponentially in these heartbreaking times. 🖤

With my revision surgery upcoming in the next 1.5 weeks Salem and I might be recovering together, which is an unexpected $20,000 bill. I am a responsible pet owner and have money set aside for emergencies in lieu of pet insurance but it is still shocking. 🥲

Thank you for reading & keeping us in your thoughts… Salem is 2 next month and has been my emotional support since the day I met her.

I’ll be picking her up later today once her sedation wears off & confirm the X-ray results and where we go from here.
