it's been a loooong time since I posted anything (a lot of work and pickleball) but there's been a lot of stuff released in the past 2 months that I had the pleasure of working on..... I'll try to add some links to some of that soon.

New Field Guide album (Rootin' for ya - mixed), Deluxe edition of Wisecrack by Haley Blais and live videos (coproduced, engineered and mixed), single by Zaac Pick ("The Best Part" produced, engineered, mixed and mastered), single by Jillian Lake ("Worse" - coproduced, engineered and mixed), David Vertesi's new album "Fictionalized" is out! (coproduced a bunch of it with Dave and mixed the bulk of it as well). single by Ashleigh Ball ("Reelin in the Years" - mixed), new singles by Clay Hazey (mixed), ... and finally the Reichenbach Falls album "Wayfarer Beware" has dropped (produced, engineered, mixed and mastered and played all the backing tracks with the exception of Abe's lead vocals and acoustic guitars)!

Have you heard this song yet? I like this one a lot.

The guitar bursts in the middle are a highlight for me as well as the strummy breakdown near the end. Jordan's always been one of my favorite lyricists too.

This album was self-recorded in our own little world—rented and borrowed mics in our living rooms and basements. It felt like kind of an epic journey making this one, but we love how it turned out and feel so grateful to everyone who contributed to making this record what it is. We hope these songs find a place in your heart.

Release shows kick off this weekend with a Calgary show tonight at The Pioneer and a hometowner in Lethbridge at Owl Acoustic Lounge on Saturday! Excited to take these songs out for a rip and to see some pals.

Gratitude post // I'm very pleased and thankful to have added some new equipment to the studio in the recent months thanks to the support of Creative BC and the Province of BC through their Music Company Development program.

We have acquired a very lovely Yamaha U1 piano (from the fine folks @ Allison Piano in Victoria) which has a beautiful rich tone and a very responsive action. This has already been put to use on a number of new recordings.

In addition we were able to upgrade some components on the audio conversion chain by the purchase of some Madi interface cards for both the Radar and PC - as well as adding some Burl Audio converters (from Studio Economik in Montreal) for printing mixes through (and general recording use as well :) I've just been able to start using this and am very impressed by it's analog-like response to being pushed.

I'm slowly re-emerging from holiday chillouts and getting my head back into work mode.
