Here’s how to overload a paddle board.
Sailing stories as we prepare and attempt to circumnavigate, one nautical mile at a time. Ahoy, friends! We’ll continue wherever the trade winds blow.
With a strong desire to explore the world, we purchased a 1988 34ft Catalina sailboat, sold all of our belongings, and moved aboard in order to save our pretty little pennies while learning all things sailing! The plan is to untie the lines in August 2017 and head south towards Mexico, then over to New Zealand and Australia. We plan on documenting the entire process and voyage to share with you al
l as the adventure unfolds. We also hope that our story will inspire others to follow their dreams! We wouldn’t be able to do this without the sacrifice, blood, sweat and tears, but more importantly, the support from our friends and the online community. With your pledges, we will be able to buy sailing equipment, safety gear, and filming equipment so you can follow along! The list of things we need to prepare ahead of time is HUGE! Every dollar will get us that much closer to being able to curate this story and share with the world. A huge thank you to all of you out there who are following our adventure, especially to our Patrons! Stay tuned...
With love and gratitude,
Captain Eric & First Mate Karoline

ONE DAY WE MAY BE SENT TO WRITE THE STORY OF OUR LIVES; 10 YEARS IN AN OFFICE WILL BE A SMALL CHAPTER, WHILE THE FEW DAYS SPENT IN THE WILD WILL BE EXPAND TO BECOME THE REAL STORY.
Here’s how to overload a paddle board.
Things have changed a lot in the last year, Life as been good but definitely different! What has been bringing joy and happiness in the past keeps evolving. Cravings for adventures never stops but it has been a challenge to learn how to manage less ambitious trips and find a balance between manageable and safe. This weekend we settle for New Castle Island. It’s just a short paddle from home, the family 💃🕺👶🐕, good company and a cooler full of beers 🍺 ! LIFE is GOOD!
Island hopping! Anyone around Garbiola this weekend?
The boys are back in town. It’s been 10 years since we last got together in Whistler and 7 years since I last put snowboard boots. Going down to Tofino tomorrow, anyone around this week?
Some Alpine lakes exploration last week! Emerald milky water for days!
Land life isn’t that bad. The van is coming together, first photo of the new Banboo cabinets. Lots of change coming on the horizon 🌅😎
Hey guys, SV Bria Mia is now for sale!😍
If you know anyone looking for an adventure on a boat that is ready to go anywhere. Here's their chance, please make sure to share! Mahalo 🌊 🌸 🤙
Took the new electric scooter for a rip around Maui. Tons of beautiful and tropical beaches everywhere.
That’s what 25-30 knots on the nose fells like! Maui had bunch of surprises for us yesterday, we thought the exciting part of our passage to Maui would be crossing the channel between the 2 islands. Think again ⛵️💨
Happy Mother’s Day to this tough lady for putting up with me for 33 years and all my crazy ideas! You are the most supportive and loving mother. Hope you get to enjoy this special day! 😘
CONFESSION❗️We smuggled an unreported crew member across the Pacific Ocean 😁🌊 With over 3,000 nautical miles under her/his belt even before walking, this little peanut will probably come to this world with stellar sea legs! ⛵️
👉🏼 CREW WANTED! 👈🏼 To bring our lovely lady back into Canadian waters ⛵️ 🇨🇦 We plan on crossing from Hawaii to Vancouver some time between end of May and end of June, dependent on when the best weather window presents itself. This is your chance to be a Wandersailor for three whole weeks! But more importantly, to experience the magic of the Pacific Ocean, the bluest blue and the brightest skies 🌌 DM me if interested 😃

Kona having a relax evening before departure. We are just about to round the Southern tip of Baja over the next few days before doing the big jump. We are quite excited about our biggest passage so far. Tracking device information will be posted on our page.
We traded our Rastafarian Genneker for this one with our first Tyr. It was pretty exciting to blow it up today for the first time and see what it looks like. Flying at 6knots!! ⛵️ 💨
We made it safely to Santa Rosalia. Kona is back at doing what she does best. Sunbathing her on the side deck.
Sailing Into the sunset! 🌅
After a few weeks recommissioning the boat and waiting for parts. We finally sailed across the Sea of Cortez from Guyamas to San Rosalia. ⛵️
It took us 15 hours and ~ 30mins, it was a nice smooth sail for most of it until the wind slowly died.
Nathalie’s first time on the Boat! 😁
After a 2 months boat refit. We finally splash the boat in the Sea of Cortez. It's Nat's first time sailing on SV Bria Mia. We get some provisioning done bef...
Cleaning up tools today. After owning the boat for almost 5 years. We end up with duplicates and extras that I can’t see myself using at the same time. If something onboard doesn’t have double purposes, it got to go.
Guilty pleasure! Getting my prop as shiny as I can until I can see my face in it 🤩🔥.
We have been using different methods and products over the years to keep growth off. What seems to be working well is EGG WHITE! 🥚
That’s right, just egg white. You just have to paint it on, let it drip in between coats. It’s cheap, works well and it doesn’t harm the environment. 🐠
📸
Pizza onboard are the best!! 🍕 I use 2/3 whole wheat flour, 1/3 white flour, cup of Parmesan cheese, yeast, olive oil, Salt and a sh*t tons of love.
PLEASE SHARE your secret recipes! I want to try something new! ⛵️🥘🤘
