Mitch McConnell briefly freezes, is escorted away during news conference
WATCH: U.S. Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell briefly froze during remarks to reporters on Wednesday and was escorted away from the press conference.
After returning to the news conference, McConnell was asked by reporters if his absence was related to a concussion he sustained in March, when he was hospitalized for a few days after tripping and falling, and if he had anyone in mind to replace him when he is no longer leader. McConnell walked away without giving a clear answer.

WATCH: Haunting drone footage of the Greek island of Rhodes on Thursday showed the coast, cliffs and land scorched by wildfires that have raged for more than a week and led to the mass evacuation of tourists.
While some buildings near Kiotari seemed to have been miraculously spared by the flames, others were totally destroyed and tourist resorts and hotels were now encircled by charred ground Although the blazes were less fierce on Rhodes on Wednesday firefighters were still battling fires close to a mountainous area south of the island.

Huge construction crane in New York City crashes to street after catching fire
WATCH: The top portion of a construction crane caught fire and collapsed in Manhattan on Wednesday, injuring at least six people and snarling traffic during the morning rush hour, authorities and local media said. Firefighters and rescue personnel responded to the scene, blocking traffic in the surrounding streets and through the Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey during rush hour.

Toronto police dog named Bingo shot dead during incident involving armed suspect
