Magical moment. This shot by is a memory captured I will cherish. I just love this photo, what’s not to love? The sunset, this amazing couple who stole our hearts, and dang! My hair looks amazing ❤️ This was one of those moments that even after ten years of filming weddings I get caught up in, the thrill of what we get to do and the incredible people we get to do it with.
Full. Humble. Grateful. That’s how I feel in this moment.

What a great screen grab from Nadine and Jayde's wedding 😍
08/02/2023
Every wedding leaves an impact. Nadine and Jayde's day will forever be a precious memory.
It seems from the beginning, everyone knew these high school sweethearts were just meant to be. Jayde says he knew if he screwed this up he would never find a woman like Nadine again.
Sometimes life takes us on journey's, some expected, and some like COVID come out of nowhere. 700 hundred days later Nadine finally became Mrs. Severtson.
Being able to share this day with their son Everett, named after Jayde's Grandfather, was emotional for everyone. Jayde's grandfather passed away the night after he met his namesake.
Intimate and beautiful describes this backyard ceremony. Even though the day was overcast the precipitation stayed away until it was time to party. We will never complain about misty romantic skies. It makes some pretty great shots.
Nadine and Jayde, thank you for trusting your story with us and allowing us to share it. Your love is tangible and encouraging.

So what makes a great letter? Words from the heart. Period. Brody’s note to Annelise deserved its own little film. So good! We may have fallen a little in love with him too!
: schedule 10 to 15 minuets in your day after the "I do's" for just the two of you! Best tip ever! Having time to check in with each other and say "can you believe it? We're married", is a big deal. My favourite memory of our wedding day was the 15 minute break we got just to ourselves.

What do you love most about your partner?
Me? I love that Dean supports me encourages me to be more, better, stronger, but he never makes me feel like I’m not enough. He loves me for who I am.

What's your best tip for a great marriage?
We are all for weddings and great stories but we're also for great marriages.
Dean and I met on New Year's 1998. Some of our couples weren't even born yet! In the 22 years we've known each other we've learned a few tricks for a good relationship. Like how to fight in a healthy way (yes, there's a right and a wrong way to argue), to choose to love each other - even when you don't feel like it, and to cheer each other on in all things.
No marriage is perfect, but it's an amazing adventure and the best partnership ever.

Even if the forecast is nothing but sunshine be prepared just in case.
May is here! Hopefully some rain too! As they say rain on your wedding day is a blessing.
Having some cute umbrellas on hand and possibly alternate footwear is always a good idea. You just never know, keeping your peeps smiling is half the game with formals.
Shooting in the rain makes for a special level of experience when it comes to filming, and we've had our fair share of days in the rain. It can make for some unbelievably beautiful and romantic shots.

I Look at You and I'm Home | Melissa and Jesse's Black Knight Inn wedding, Red Deer Alberta
A foot may separate them in height but, Melissa is one of those people who fills the gap with her radiant personality and passion.
Melissa says she was first attracted to Jesse's "deep soothing voice" and his tall dark handsome profile didn't hurt. Jesse was drawn in by her "adorable laugh" and "cute little ears". They quickly realized they balanced each other and made a great team.
Jesse's a gentleman and you can't help but love him, he's kind and gentle and patient. Melissa is a spitfire, she's all heart and she will get things done. She lives and loves with all she has. Melissa will move mountains - as long as she has lots of snacks! It's not hard to see how they build each other up to create something bigger than themselves.
September 7, 2019 was a gorgeous early autumn day in Red Deer Alberta. We filmed the first look and the formal shots at the River Bend area west of Red Deer with Candice from Candi Koated Design Studio. She is an amazing photographer we highly recommend. She's a pro at getting a couple to relax and have fun, not to mention she's just a blast to work with. When people come together with good creative vibes it enhances the product for the client and ups everyones game.
Melissa and Jesse's ceremony and reception were hosted at the Black Knight Inn in Red Deer with decor by Copper Cloud Events. The incomparable Janice Orr officiated and as always did it with flare. The highlight of the day for us might have been the chocolate fountain! Like Melissa, we do like food and well, CHOCOLATE! 'Nuf said.
Red Deer has this gem of a bakery we just love, Stella Bean Sweets so when we learned the Owner Estie was one of Melissa's bridesmaids/aspiring b-boxer, we knew the cake would be gorgeous.
Jesse and Melissa, thank you for trusting us with your memories and allowing them to have a life that will be passed down to future generations. Thank you for letting us be a part of your adventure.

Our Story
Video productions services for weddings, promotional films, announcements, special events, and informative pieces. We strive to tell stories though film.
What do you get when a farm girl marries a 4th generation cabinet maker? The top husband and wife wedding videography team in central Alberta.
I’m Natalie Winters. I’m the owner and producer of Humble Pie Productions. I grew up on a farm in the “area formerly known as Balzac”. I graduated from SAIT in 2005 with a diploma in Broadcast Journalism. After marrying Dean I moved to Canmore and worked for their small town radio station writing/reading news, giving all kinds of reports from traffic, trails and weather, to the best granola in town.
Dean and I moved to Sundre in 2007 with child number one, and child number two on the way. While raising our now 3 children (all July babies), I started to create video productions for our little church. In 2013 I was asked to film my first wedding by a fellow at our church. I declined the offer three times as I didn’t feel it was my destiny! Well, he wouldn’t take no for an answer. So with a Canon Rebel and a Kodak zi8 we broke into the wedding industry! And so Humble Pie Productions was born.
As a little girl I loved to sit and listen to the tales regaled around our farmhouse table. Telling stories was just a natural path for me. I lived for public speaking during my 4-H years and in 2002 I honed my elocution skills as a Calgary Stampede Princess. When I applied for the Broadcast course at SAIT, I fully intended to be on the “talent” side of the camera. Yet another aspect of the humble theme in our lives.
There is a lid for every pot, a good friend likes to say. Well I’m not sure who’s the pot and who’s the lid, but Dean and I go like pickles on a pepperoni pizza (a family fave). Dean is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. But that really doesn’t do justice to this partner of 14 years. Dean has never had an enemy in his life! He’s a farm kid also and he attended Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary because of his love of western art.
In 2000 Dean went to work with his dad in the family business (you have to check out https://www.facebook.com/WintersWoodworks/). In 2002 he moved to Canmore to work for TriStar Woodowrks. We moved to Sundre in 2007 so Dean could work with his dad.
With his art background and his “quick on the feet” farm kid skills, when I asked him to be my second shooter he stepped up like a pro. Together we took a crash course in EVERYTHING to do with filming and editing a wedding, and building a business.
So now we’re into our sixth year filming weddings and producing promotional films. Our greatest strength is each other. “Two are better than one... A chord of three strands is not easily broken”. We have over 70 weddings to our HPP name and we’re training up the next crop of wedding shooters.
Every year we’re honing our craft and mastering this art. Every wedding we film, we learn something new. Staying humble so we’re moldable, usable, relatable, is the foundation we build on every day. When you have nothing to learn you might as well quit.
We love what we do! Every wedding we film is an honour to capture. We believe in marriage. Sarcasm (the nice kind) is our second language. Laughing is our first.
We hope you’ll join us on the adventure and you’ll watch us grow. We can never have enough friends or support.
