🔥How I Got Grant Cardone on University of Adversity Podcast🔥
“How did you land Grant Cardone on your podcast?” 🤔
I’ve been asked that question more times than I can count over the past 4 years. So, here’s the mind-blowing answer... 😆
Fun fact: My old IG account, the very one I used to pitch Grant, got stolen in 2020. A guy held it for ransom, and let’s just say Instagram’s “helpful” response was far from helpful and I never got it back.

Putting down the drugs and putting the plug in the jug, that's a very small part of sober.
Then you got to start doing the rope work.
Then you got to dig down deep into your soul, into that empty, dark place that led you down this path, because you will relapse.
You will go back out where you will live a very sober life.
And that's not good either.

Some people see it as a dance, it's fun.
Some people see it as, oh, my God, poor me.
That's the key here.
It's realizing that this is coming no matter what.

The antidote to being a distractor is presence.
It's about sitting in it.
It's not about taking yourself out of the current situation.
Life presents us with difficult situations sometimes.
And the more we distract ourselves,
the more we take ourselves out of the present moment,
the less opportunity we get to feel and learn.
And this also can come with something good that happens.

"Knowing the road markers, knowing the hazard signs of who you are.
That's the true vulnerability.
That's the always becoming journey.
It has allowed me to recognize that everyday,
I've got to work to maintain this alignment and so does everyone else.
Every day I've got to love myself.
That's the priority."

"There are two ways to create a high-performance culture.
One is enormous pressure, crazy goals, hardcore deadlines, and fear-based tactics to force people to get there.
The other way to create high performance is through trust and empowerment and focusing on that culture first approach"

"There are two different forms of Narcissistic supply.
The diamond level supply - this is how a Narcissist looks.
Adoration, big houses, prestigious friends, impressive jobs, things like that.
Second is coal level supply, the dark underbelly of Narcissistic supply.
This is the degrading people, manipulating, making people miserable."

And there's a really big difference between age and elderhood.
And I think that with our deathophobic culture, which you began to mention, I'll call it a pseudo-culture, because culture actually comes from the root word of cultivation.
So culture comes from the earth.
Culture doesn't come from economics.
But with our deathophobic pseudo-culture, we push away aging, we push away death.
We push away the act of killing animals to eat them like they're in factory farms, like out in the middle of nowhere where you never crossed their path.
And then simultaneously, we worship death, like video games and movies.
Like the whole Californiacation of this entire process.
We just have a really weird relationship with decomposition or the aging and then death.
We really worship the birth and the growth cycles of life.
And in a biomimetic process, meaning in the cycles of nature, there are different parts of the life cycle.
And our pseudoculture focuses specifically on growth, right?
This is why personal growth and development is such a booming industry.
It is because we associate growing or moving in this direction, kind of like the GDP graph.
We associate growth as the most important part of our journey.
When actually, without decomposition or death, birth and growth cannot even happen.

If you don't believe in yourself, how can you expect anybody else to?
You need to get to the root of why you don't believe in yourself.
It's not always easy, but it's a responsibility for you to really tap into your greatest and truest potential.
It's to fully f**k, yes, 100% believe in yourself.

We can only work in hospitality because we think we're doing is good for others.
If we have the joy of service.
Does service bring you joy?
Your choice.
For me, it does.
If you ask me for help right now, I actually feel really good to help you.
Not everybody's hardwired that way, but only those kinds of hardwired people can work here.
It could be an accountant, I love my work.
It can be front desk, I love being at the front desk.
It's something in your heart, you like that work.
I'll just say the word first: HUMILITY.
We mean we think everyone in this room has the same infinite dignity and worth as you do.
Therefore, we all must be treated with love.
It doesn't mean we're perfect.
We're gonna get upset.
But we want the good for you.
And we want everyone here to feel welcomed.
And that's how it is for our guests too.
The consequence is you actually have to be willing to be humbled.
So that means picking up trash as I do or helping someone who's struggling.
It's true humility.
Service is ultimate humility.
