You can watch live images updated once per minute from both the 18th St North camera (Grand Valley Church) and a specially-added-for-the-blizzard Daly Overpass camera (Sutton-Harrison Realty) throughout the rest of the week and monitor whatever Mother Nature has in store for us. Brandon could more than double its entire precip total for the summer between Friday and Wednesday if the forecast noted in a precautionary Overland Flood Warning issued by the Province on Friday holds. Depending on how much falls over a short period of time, scenes not unlike this pic from a rain system last year could be making their way to the area.

The Brandon district's increase of 20 cases on the Provincial dashboard from Tuesday to Wednesday represents its highest total of Covid's third wave and the second-highest in the district in 2021. The attached graph looks at the daily increase in the Brandon district case count as observed in data published on the dashboard dating back to August and running through to today (Wednesday).

The Province publishes regular current data on Covid-19 at https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/

With an increase of 26 cases on the Provincial dashboard over Friday and Saturday's updates, Brandon finds itself facing Covid's third wave alongside the province and many parts of Canada. An objective, fact-oriented must-read and worthwhile share on an important topic in this community as we see some areas of local Facebook seriously effected by the repeating of false conspiracy theories during the ongoing pandemic response (no paywall)...

How do you convince people to take measures against the spread of COVID-19 when they dismiss it as “just a flu?” What about convincing them to accept a vaccine they believe is redundant, dangerous or both? Fake news is proving a serious barrier between government messaging about the COVID-19 pan...

SPECIAL LIVE IMAGE WE**AM ALERT!
Thanks to the good folks at Sutton-Harrison Realty we've been able to setup an experimental live image we**am at 18th Street and Pacific Ave. The camera captures and shares once per 60 seconds a live high-ish quality picture... which may be of interest for anyone that may be following this week's scheduled demolition of the International Harvester Building along with anyone wanting to monitor impacts of the winter-ish storm system that's on the way.

For the coming days, there is now an ad/image link from the eBrandon front page that takes one straight to the most recent image captured from the camera. From that page you can click on links to see a series of archived shots from the past hour and from the past 24 hours so that you can compare and contrast any changes that have taken place.

I call the camera experimental because I havent used this particular camera for a longer-term project, and so is always the possibility of the odd glitch/bug that could get in the way. The camera was acting up a little last night but is working pretty great today... Will do my best to keep an eye and address anything that pops up.

The direct link to the camera image is:
