Today, BOUNCE 96.1 is hosting an on-air auction in support of the Westman Traditional Christmas Dinner! You can bid on this great package donated by the Brandon Wheat Kings including 4 tickets to a regular season game and an autographed photo featuring 3 Manitoba Wheat Kings - Nolan Ritchie, Chad Nychuk and Tyson Zimmer - to the Westman Traditional Christmas Dinner.
To bid call the BOUNCE Brandon studio at 204-727-5996 before 5 p.m, Friday, December 22nd. Funds raised will support the Tradtional Christmas Dinner and help make sure no one is alone at Christmas.

THE SKATING OVAL OPENS TOMORROW (DEC 22) AT 4:00PM!
The City of Brandon’s Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to inform the public that the Skating Oval, located immediately west of the City of Brandon’s Parks & Recreation Complex on McGregor Avenue will be open tomorrow, Friday, December 22 at 4 p.m.
Around the skating oval is the Manitoba Hydro Waterfall of Lights display, which is on from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly through the winter season. No public vehicles are allowed in the direct area of the Waterfall of Lights display. The public is encouraged to park in designated areas on McGregor Avenue or Hilton Avenue and walk through the area to view the lights. The City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Department asks all members of the public to enjoy the lighting displays at a safe distance and not to walk in areas where power cords are present.
Tomorrow also marks the official opening of the Hanbury Hill toboggan hill, located just off Braecrest Drive in Sir Winston Churchill Park. Hanbury Hill’s warm-up gazebo will be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Decorative lighting and flood lighting will be turned on each evening from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the duration of the season.
Other toboggan hills available for public use include ones in Rideau Park and at the Wheat City Golf Course/Recreation Centre, in addition smaller sliding hills include the 34th Street & Cherry Crescent Sliding Hill and the Parkdale Park Sliding Hill. Families are encouraged to enjoy all the above-mentioned free winter recreation offerings; however, the City of Brandon would note that all are unsupervised areas.

If you’re able to donate a toy for a child in need this holiday season, you can drop it off unwrapped at the Elspeth Reid Family Resource Centre, Canadian Tire, Virden Home Hardware, or the CFS Western office in Brandon before December 17th!

Child & Family Services of Western Manitoba has their annual Holiday Tree and Toy Drive for Change happening now!
Anyone can bring in an unwrapped toy to donate for a child in the community that might not otherwise get one. You can also enter to win some great family prize packs at the same time!
Donations can be dropped off today at the Elspeth Reid Family Resource Centre (255 9th Street) until noon, and at Canadian Tire from 12-2. If you can’t make it today, you can still drop off at Elspeth Reid, Canadian Tire, Virden Home Hardware, or the CFS Western office at 800 McTavish Avenue.
