No fricken way!!!! I talked about this in one of the Canadian legends episodes.
***Update, So now we get more information and the REAL story emerges. This monument was not a man's wife...this was for 15 year old Jennie Steeves. She contracted (it's believed) tuberculosis when she was in London for school. She came home and passed from the disease.
I wonder how the head came to be returned and it's neat that it will be restored by descendants of the original carver!
For more than two decades, a white, Italian marble statue of a young woman has stood headless over the Gray’s Island Cemetery in the southeastern New Brunswick village of Hillsborough. This week, the head returned to the graveyard.
