No fricken way!!!! I talked about this in one of the Canadian legends episodes.

***Update, So now we get more information and the REAL story emerges. This monument was not a man's wife...this was for 15 year old Jennie Steeves. She contracted (it's believed) tuberculosis when she was in London for school. She came home and passed from the disease.

I wonder how the head came to be returned and it's neat that it will be restored by descendants of the original carver!

For more than two decades, a white, Italian marble statue of a young woman has stood headless over the Gray’s Island Cemetery in the southeastern New Brunswick village of Hillsborough. This week, the head returned to the graveyard.

I made the decision to take the rest of the summer off. It's been such a crazy year with covid and my little one is craving the time together! Sometimes we all just need a little break to re group. I still have my episodes all planned for fall including the halloween countdown. I can't wait! Thank you for your continued support.

Hi everyone,
I usually keep politics out of this show but I feel like today, Canada Day, this needs to be addressed. I am proud to be Canadian and clearly I love this country because it is a huge part of my show. That being said, there has been some really tragic news stories of late. I am of course talking about the genocide against indigenous peoples and the creation and implementation of the residential schools.

Just yesterday another 182 unmarked graves were found at another former residential school in B.C. My heart goes out to the victims, families and survivors of these places. I foresee more sadness to come as there were once at least 139 residential schools in Canada alone, with the last one closing in 1996.

As we become more educated about the past and uncover the answers that many have been looking for, for decades....No matter how hard those answers will be, let us support each other with kindness and understanding. Being a proud Canadian, to me, means acknowledging the bad that was done in the past and demanding nothing less than action and truth from our government and leaders today.

Feeling generous? Consider donating to the podcast, every little bit helps.

I can't wait for the next episode, there is one location connected to a famous writer, I don't think it's been talked about before on any other platforms. Also, I'm going to do a little contest next week leading up to it, so stay tuned!👻

Hi Everyone, so you may or may not know but I research, write, interview, record and edit this podcast all on my own! Though it is a labour of love, it is VERY time consuming. I have been looking into different ways for listeners to support if they so choose. The thing I don't like about things like Patreon is that it is a monthly subscription and I feel like that can be a lot to ask! This is why I chose this route, if you would like to show me some support financially, you can 'buy me a coffee!'

NEW episode is up. I hope you all enjoy the stories from Algonquin Resort, Autograph Collection and Théâtre Capitol Theatre. I spoke to Marshal at the Capitol about their resident spirit 'Sandy' who seems to be a very protective spirit...mirroring his morals in life. I then spoke with Josh from the Algonquin Resort about it's vast history and the FOUR spirits that are said to reside at the hotel. Would you be brave enough to book the Bride's suite? Be sure to book soon as it is about a year's wait to get into that room.
