Just wanted to say thank you for everyone who came out to see me at Sydney and Cedar Community Hall. I was planning on attending the Bewitched Market in Metchosin at the end of the month but things came up and I had to cancel. I have a tentative spot for a fair in November. On the night of December 25, 1843, a fire burned down part of George and Emeline Houseman's cottage. The remains of two bodies were found within the ashes, that of Emeline Houseman and her baby daughter. They, however, did not die in the fire, but the fire was set to cover up their murders. Suspicion fell upon Mary (Polly) Bodine (George Houseman's sister), dubbed The Witch of Staten Island.
