In 2015-16 I was fortunate enough to spend quite a bit of time in Jasper, Alberta. This was at a time when I first started exploring the ideas and concepts of capturing micro-map 360 VR technology. Today Insight Visual Solutions is applying this tech to tourism and real estate markets around the world.
Of course, with all the beauty that surrounded us in Jasper National Park, I was inspired to create a little “demo” of this proprietary technology for Tourism Jasper. They eventually embraced this forward-thinking technology and licensed the “demo” as test project.
Fast-forward to recent events in Jasper National Park and you can see more of the importance of capturing moments in time with photos, video and other emerging technologies, for the sake of preserving memories of what was and what may be in the future.
I’ve always been captivated with museums and interactive “history” displays of the past. I’ve recently realized that what I have been documenting around the world over the past 40 years may inspire and “captivate” new generations, as all of this material becomes history each day.
