It’s interesting to see how the variety of Olympic sports has changed with the times. Years ago croquet, cannon shooting and tug of war were actual Olympic competitions. Today we can see break dancing and skateboard competitions in Paris.

More Provincial Park fire restrictions beginning tomorrow.

There are currently fire restrictions for the following provincial parks.

• Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park
• Pike Lake Provincial Park
• Blackstrap Provincial Park

Effective noon on Thursday, August 1, 2024, fire restrictions for the following provincial parks will also be put in place.

• Porcupine Hills Provincial Park
• Fort Carlton Historic Park

All open fires are prohibited when restrictions are in place.

Half a dozen Canada Geese on the pond, couple of ducks and our lone snow goose, Mr White on the left bank. He’s been here for a month now. Turn up the volume to hear the red wing blackbirds. Happy Friday!!
