Ive noticed that in most rock bands the lead singer is the frontman, and in some cases they're also the guitarist, but I've been trying to think of bands where the keyboardist/pianist is the frontman. The only ones that come to mind are Queen, Rush, and The Killers. Anybody else able to think of any others?

Get excited, , lots coming up worth looking forward to.

Firstly, with just around the corner, we'll be starting the at 4PM tomorrow, and letting it run straight through until the end of the long weekend. ALl the best Canadian music, straight through until July 3rd.

Secondly, to celebrate this great nation and all of its talented musicians, we'll be playing the on our next show. Last year you heard us do the Bands bracket and (somehow) name Marianas Trench as our favourite Canadian band. This year we'll be doing it all over again and naming our favourite artist. With any luck we'll make some better choices this year...I mean, Marians Trench, really?

Ok I was having a music-related discussion earlier today that left me stumped, and I need your help.

I'm sure you all remember Psy, the South Korean singer best known for his song "Gangnam Style." What you might now know is that even though "Gangnam Style" is pretty much Psy's only well-known song in the English-speaking world, he's very successful in South Korea.

So I was trying to think of a Canadian artist or band that we could say the same thing about - an artist or band who is very popular in Canada, but really only known for one thing internationally.

So artists or bands like Justin Bieber, Drake, Shania Twain, Rush, Nickelback...they'd all be disqualified because they're all very popular both in Canada and internationally. The Tragically Hip wouldn't count either because they're pretty big here in Canada but never really had much success elsewhere. And someone like Carly Rae Jepsen wouldn't count either, because the one thing she's known for outside of Canada...let's face it, that's the only thing she's known for in Canada too.

So help me out, share your thoughts, there must be an example that I'm overlooking. Who's the Canadian equivalent of Psy? Who's a Canadian musician or band who was very popular in Canada but only known for one thing outside of Canada?
