My name is Myrko Robert a.k.a Papi Gonzo, digital artist, disc-jockey & creative mastermind behind the now defunct Voie Alternative, a Quebec-based multidisciplinary art & music collective established in 2013 and active pillar of the local electronic music scene until early 2023. I’ve always been fully dedicated to what I consider my ‘missions’. For the past ten years, I never stopped experimentin

g with multimedia and promoting an alternative way to nightlife & adult entertainment through festive & creative nocturne gatherings. With the help of Voie Alternative’s core crew, I’ve hosted more than 60+ event productions over the years, mainly in Quebec City, all in the name of my passion for Underground Culture and Electronic Arts. As a disk-jockey and true music enthusiast, my goal is to explore the freshest music productions, tracks that incorporate various musical influences and a particular sound signature which represents me entirely, as a person & artist. Every genre has something to offer on dancefloors all around the world and I grasp the opportunity to indulge myself into all of them, from slower styles such as House, Techno, Prog, Minimal, Psytech, Bass to faster ones such as Hard-Acid, Psytrance, Tribe-Mental, Breaks and IDM. My ideology towards Electronic Music is inclusive, following a “BPM without borders” philosophy, that promotes hybridized music that can be described as “deep-dancefloor-electronica”. My creative approach has no boundaries featuring a signature that always integrate multiples organic, experimental, psychedelic, deep and hypnotic elements throughout an unique storytelling auditive experience that moves your mind and body. Recognized for performances of advanced mixing technicality & otherworldly on-stage energy, I’ve performed in countless indoor events & outdoor festivals in Eastern Canada since 2015 such as Eclipse Festival, Timeless Festival, Future Forest, Triskel Festival & Illusion to name a few, but also in a some overseas ones like Magik Festival [Guatemala], Tribunion [Mexico] and Suti Festival [Portugal].

I decided to release this Live Extract, freshly recorded just before leaving for Mexico/Guatemala at the GonzoLABS.. Produced using Elektron Digitakt + Analog4 MK2, Minibrute 2S and Deepmind 6.

This is a premiere for me in 100% hardware jam and it's clearly a work-in-progress. I need to add some more percussions and refine the structure & progression, but I'm pretty satisfied on how it went.

The featured artists & labels are coming from the same place, relatively in the same vein as my previous ITG release, their sound signature gravitates around the Zenonesque subgenre. That being said, the tracks featured in this set are definitely on the deeper side of progressive techno, ranging from 124 to 132bpm.

The second installment of my new podcast series is now available! It is focusing on the Gonzoverse and the concept of BPM WITHOUT BORDERS. It is simple: each genre/sub-genre has something for me to offer on dancefloor around the globe, so why should I limit myself ?! ... Anyway, my first public appearance was almost ten years ago (may 2014) and this series is the fruit of my endless dedication throughout the last decade.

This set explores a special concoction of various sounds from styles such as tekno, trance, psychedelic & acid techno, but at high-speed BPM, from 160 to 195 bpm like in this recording. That scene doesn't have a name for the style, there is no need to label it as it is self-describing.
