What are your standards?
#StayAwesome #ATATribe
Choose or choose not - there is no try.
You have to lean into the fact that you cannot afford to sit idly by and just let Life happen. It doesn't work like that. Sorry.
Make a choice. Do the work.
#StayAwesome #ATATribe
Everything in due time.
Focus on what needs to be done.
Eliminate what does not and will not matter.
I promise, you will get to enjoy what you actually WANT to do.

ONE shift
Sometimes, all it takes is one simple change. But simple doesn't mean easy.

Discipline sucks - but it works.

3 steps to failure - and how to avoid them
Success, like its counterpart, is the result of simple steps.
By design
Oftentimes, we think things 'JUST' happen.
I don't subscribe to that.
Particular circumstances not withstanding, you DO have the ability to forge the outcome you seek.
There's a process to everything.
Don't train? You will struggle.
Train well? You will reap the benefits.
Lesve things up to chance. Watch The Universe do its thing.
Stay focused. Stay disciplined. And when things occasionally go sideways - learn and adjust accordingly.

"I may not have all the answers but I'm sure there's a book that does."
Those were, among many more, some of my father's memorable words of wisdom.
Whenever my siblings and I would come to him with a question beyond his impressive knowledge, with those words, he was simply nudging us to get resourceful and just figure it out.
And 'figuring it out' often meant digging and researching within the incredible amount of books he had on every conceivable topic. No joke.
This eventually led to a serious love for books and thirst for knowledge that has stayed with us to this day.
These are the kind of powerful anecdotes that my next guest truly resonates with as his passion for the wonders and rewards that stem from the love of reading are summed up in his personal slogan : Read or Else.
Ty Allan Jackson(Author Ty Allan Jackson) is an award-winning children’s book author, youth motivational speaker, literacy advocate, and honorary Doctorate recipient.
A three-time TEDx presenter, he travels around the US inspiring children to read and educating adults about the impacts of illiteracy.
Jackson’s self-published books have been featured on CNN, NBC Nightly News, The Steve Harvey Show, PBS, and the Hallmark Channel.
In 2020, he appeared on Marvel’s Hero Project on Disney+ and a Good Morning America segment featuring Sidney Keys, a young man who was inspired by Jackson’s book Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire: The Lemonade Escapade to create an innovative book club for Black boys.
Ty is also the cofounder of the Read or Else movement and the financial literacy program, the Danny Dollar Academy.
On this episode, Ty shows us how to push past the rejection and create our own opportunities, the importance of standing firmly in our ha
I've always admired stand up comics.
Not just for the sheer audacity and courage it must take to show your face to a group of people who whether they know it or not, are armed and able to skewer and decimate not just your material, but also your mental strength, resilience and self-esteem.
It's a career path that by all comparisons, when you deconstruct it, could be considered lunacy. But, if you're a fan like me, you cannot set aside the incredible sense of pride one must have for the craft to literally put it all out on the line and chase your dream.
Such is the kind of dedication and skill that has undoubtedly been at the core of my next guest's notable 30-yr career in the business.
As a former police officer, Kevin Jordan(Comedian Kevin Jordan laugh page) found out quickly that he preferred making people laugh. His unique blend of high energy and lovable charm make him a favorite wherever he performs. Another exciting conversation which I do hope you'll enjoy.

Oli's Quick Takes # 04 - The Biggest (Yet Hardest) Shift
One the MAJOR and necessary steps you MUST make in order to elevate. #StayAwesome
I'm actually incredibly excited to share today's episode with you all.
This 'A.T.A' adventure started from nothing - yet, here we are. Still here. Still connecting with incredible guests, having deeper and more meaningful conversations, bringing you the knowledge and insights that I believe will best serve you...and of course being grateful for your amazing support along the way.
As we use this year-end tradition to reflect on the year that's been, you guys know it's never easy to decide who I'm going to willingly choose to hand over the 'keys to the Castle' to as I subject myself to the 'Hot Seat'.
Fortunately, trust is something Erika Darbouze(@kika_darbouze) and I certainly agree on.
I've always had a tremendous respect for Erika's work as the dedicated CEO & Founder of Haiti's Corner. Her expertise as a Digital Marketing Strategist has certainly been essential in her mission to introduce the Haitian culture to the world by providing export marketing services to Haitian manufacturers. This with the hopes to eventually place Haitian brands in stores around the world. With such a powerful mission on her plate, it's safe to say that Erika knows how to take on a challenge.
Erika admittedly humbled me on this one. As you'll soon get to hear, through laughter, heart and some incredible attention to detail, she skillfully provided the necessary space for me to dive into the uncomfortable past, acknowledge the powerful present and rejoice for the upcoming future.
A real gem of an episode - which I do hope you'll enjoy.
