We’ve got not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR surprises for you ‼️

We are excited to finally announce the release of the physical copies of “GLITCH”!

Not only that, we’re celebrating the 25th year of Incite by reprinting HERE, FLOAT and POWER! This is an extra special ode to all the contributors who couldn’t get their work in print during the pandemic, but nonetheless formed an important part of our club’s 25 years 🫶🏼

Find us in MUSC on the 11th by Starbucks, for a special pop-up on campus! Alternatively, keep your eyes peeled for the specific stand locations at which the copies will be available!

an ode to the vol.25 editorial board 🤎

from releasing staff applications in september to hosting the first brainstorming session of the year, from assembling the glitch (and soon the motion) issues to hosting last night’s first in-person launch in three years, the editorial board has been hard at work for the last 8 months to bring Incite back, bigger and better than before!

though you’ve heard this from us constantly, we can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us, whether that was by contributing to our issues, applying to our staff, coming to our brainstorming nights, reading our issues or simply showing up last night!

In anticipation of our launch tomorrow, we would like to to thank EVERYONE reading this — whether you were part of the staff, a contributor, wanted to submit but couldn’t, or are simply an avid reader of our magazines — this issue is for all to enjoy 💙

Now, before we kick off the real celebrations tomorrow, here are some final words by Ayat Atif, on the piece “Recycle”:

“I journal by including tangible and intangible evidence of my day. This includes receipts, stickers, pictures. This also includes excerpts from texts, songs, funny conversations. The small things we wouldnt really remember. The big things we forget to reflect on. The way my handwriting was that day, whether I felt to decorate or leave it blank; all include what I was feeling and what I ended my day with.”

Here’s Mara Li, on the piece “Edith”:

“Edith, named for the woman frozen into a pillar of salt in the bible. a femininity that feels trapped and desires to redefine itself. One of the most rudimentarily challenging pieces I’ve done to date. Properly capturing facial structure while maintaining the effect of an indented stone carving was difficult. the face's makeup is based on my own!”
