Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar Naqvi known as Shamshiir-e-Tabarra, a prominent Shia Mujtahid and poet, of Lucknow, India. Born in 1918 into the esteemed lineage of Ayatullah Syed Dildar Ali Naqvi (Gufran'Maab), Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar embarked on a lifelong journey of religious scholarship and social advocacy that defined his legacy.
Lineage:
Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar Naqvi was the son of Imad-Ul-Islman Maulana Syed Abu Jafar Naqvi, who was the son of Badr-Ul-Ulama Maulana Syed Ali Akbar (Deputy), who was the son of Ayatullah Syed Mohammad (Rizwan'Maab), who was the son of Ayatullah Syed Dildar Ali (Gufran'Maab).
Early Life and Education:
Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar received his initial religious education from his father, Imad-Ul-Islam Maulana Syed Abu Jafar Naqvi. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue further studies under the guidance of luminaries such as Ayetullah Syed Ali Naqi Naqvi (Naqqan) at Lucknow University, where he earned a degree in Faazil-e-Adab in Arabic. He continued his studies under the tutelage of Moin-ul-Ulama Maulana Ali Munawwar Naqvi and Khateeb-e-Aazam Ayetullah Syed Sibte Hasan Naqvi, delving deeper into the realms of Islamic jurisprudence and theology.
Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar Known for his eloquent speeches (Taqreer-e-Tabarra and Taqreer-e-Munazra) “denouncing the enemies of the Prophet's family" Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar earned the title of "Tabarra Ki Shamshiir-e-Barhana." (The Drawn Sword Of Tabarra). His passionate defense of Shia beliefs such as Wilayat-Imamat, Azadari and Muharram practices, particularly in Majalis-e-Hussain, earned him widespread acclaim. He fearlessly confronted allegations against Shiasm and Azadari while also issuing "written verdicts" (Tahriir) on contentious issues, such as the proclamation of "Ali Un Wali Ullah Wa Khalifata'hu Bila'fasl Is The Part Of the Azan"
Poetry and Literary Contributions:
Beyond his scholarly pursuits, Ayatullah Syed Ali Shabbar was a prolific poet in both Urdu and Arabic. His Arabic Diwan spanning On “14 Bahr" And various poetic tributes ("Qata'a-e-Tareekh") To Acclaimed Scholars Like, Ayetullah Mohsin'al Hakim, Ayetullah Abul Qasim'al Khoi, And On The Death' Of Maulana Kalbe Abid stand as testaments to his Arabic Poetry prowess.

Despite facing financial constraints, he penned an Arabic book titled "Tazkirat-Ul-A'aimma Fi' Deen'il Khaim'ma," which unfortunately remained unpublished.
His involvement in various movements, including the Tabarra Agitation of 1939, And protests against the ban on Muharram processions in 1969 & 1974. Also He faced jailed alongside his close companion, Mujahid-e-Millat Syed Ashraf Hussain (Advocate), during the latter protest.
Death And Burial:
He passed away in 4 December 1988, His final ritual bath (Ghusl) took place at Bada Imambada, and he was then laid to rest in his grandfather's Imambada, Imambada-e-Gufranmaab
