Host Andrew Wilcox has worked in radio broadcasting for over 15 years. He is a passionate storyteller, music nerd and vintage motorcycle fan. Andrew grew up on a farm in Camrose County, Alberta where all the best conversations were

had around the kitchen table, or while walking through the fields. Each hour-long episode strives to be one of those conversations. A journey full of destinations, detours and distractions. I’m so excited to announce that I’m moving to Lethbridge this weekend to start a new gig as Content Director for KiSS 107.7 & 106.7 ROCK. I will also be talking music, rock & roll culture, and community on 106.7 ROCK each weekday from 9am till 2pm.

I’m stoked to be back on the Rogers team with so many incredibly talented broadcasters and wonderful people that I admire. Some have been my biggest mentors and inspirations. Thanks to Liann, Adam and Paul for making this happen.

I love coaching staff and helping them succeed, I love giving a megaphone to the people of a community to shout from about all their events, happenings and more, and of course I love the music, and pop culture. Radio gave this weirdo a place in this world and I’m excited for this new audio adventure.

My apologies for being less active on socials and such this last month, but I have been dealing with the sale of my house in Regina and everything that goes with that, moving from Fort Mac and I have been spending some time with family and friends in Edmonton and Camrose before heading south.

Thank you Keyano for my time there, I learned so much about social profit work, education work and myself. Lessons and skills that I will carry forward in my career. And thanks to Fort McMurray, for always being so great to me. Fort Mac is filled with wonderful, resilient, and dynamic humans. I will be back soon for a visit.

If anyone has a few minutes today to watch this, I highly suggest that you do. Honestly it's worth it. Ride North Moto encompasses so many of the things that I love. Motorcycles. Dogs. Mental Health. Adventure. and pushing your limits. I think that this truly represents the Fort Mac spirit and they have another ride coming up soon that will need donations.

The group was back again to ride almost 1000km in January on their motorcycles through the Wood Buffalo Municipality and into the Northwest Territories. This...

I’m so excited to be releasing more new episodes of the podcast.

Five years ago, when I finally was getting this podcast going and I was planning what it was about, I couldn’t stop thinking about old westerns I loved watching with my dad. Where the stranger or strangers roll into town to save the townsfolk from the corrupt businessmen that wanted to take their land or saloon or whatever. Cowboys that stood by their principles and beliefs at any cost to protect others and then ride off into the sunset. Wandering the land in search of new experiences, a taste of freedom and helping where they could.

This podcast is about staying true to your principles while keeping an open mind, and judging people only by the content of their character. Real conversations about the good, the bad and the ugly parts of the world and how we can make them better. It’s also about respecting the land and each other while exploring the unknown future.

New episode coming very, very soon with . He might be in a town near you this week. Check him out.

Lots and lots more episodes to come. Ride on wanderers.

The more you roam to unexpected urban places, the happier you are, researchers have found, especially for adolescents.

Honestly. I put the podcast on hold because I didn’t want to talk anymore about Covid and I thought it would be the elephant in the room with every guest. But, I miss the conversations with curious people. And Covid hasn’t killed their light, I shouldn’t have let it put out my fire. So, the podcast is coming back soon. With more guests then ever and some new tweaks and more. I’m excited to share new stories with you.

You can check out past episodes on the website TheWanderPodcast.com. Also. You can subscribe on iTunes and such.
