Originally broadcast back in 2011 on the mighty YL Country in Peace River, Alberta, New Age Outlaws was an outlet for afternoon host Steve Gunn, as a way to explore the depths of country music. After several years of dormancy, New Age Outlaws was relaunched in 2018 as a way to showcase the unplucked gems of the western sound and to reveal a world traditionally ignored by mainstream country music outlets. Much like punk, Outlaw has grown from a genre of music, to a way of life: an honest, blue collar existence that oozes sweat and authenticity. No first class flights, no fancy hotels, no red carpets. True artistry paired with a DIY ethic. New Age Outlaws celebrates that way of life, and your home for Americana, Rockabilly, Alt-Country, Bluegrass, Honky-Tonk, Prairie Soul, Cow-Punk...whatever you choose to name it, we will play it. Especially if it has some dirt on it.
