Women with ADHD often struggle to prioritize their own well-being. Self-care and mindfulness can be incredibly powerful tools in helping them manage the symptoms of ADHD. By taking time out of each day for self-care, women with ADHD can reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus, increase energy levels, and ultimately lead healthier lives.

Mindfulness helps women with ADHD focus on the present moment instead of worrying about the past or future.

Activities like yoga, meditation, journaling, art therapy, and massage are all excellent ways to gain greater awareness of our thoughts and feelings while building self-compassion.

Self-care routines such as maintaining a healthy diet full of nutrient-rich foods and exercising regularly are also important components in managing ADHD symptoms in women. Eating whole foods that provide essential vitamins and minerals help support cognitive health while regular physical activity offers numerous benefits like improved sleep quality and mood regulation.

Positive hobbies or creative pursuits can be great outlets for releasing stress while also providing a sense of calmness and fulfillment.

Taking a break from technology each day by going outside into nature can also help bring balance back into our lives by allowing us to reset our minds from being constantly stimulated by digital devices.

Taking time for yourself is not only beneficial but necessary for women with ADHD in order to stay productive, healthy and successful - making self-care & mindfulness an important part of any woman's lifestyle!

Women with ADHD do not have a disease or a disorder. It's not even an attention deficit! We have an abundance of attention. And to me that's a superpower. ❤️

If no one has told you today, I think your ADHD brain is magic. ❤

My daughter was starting to hate herself because all day long she was told — by me, her teachers, her friends — that she was constantly messing up. Doing it wrong. Misbehaving. Here are the five ways we used humor and praise to save my daughter. And me.

🧠I taught my ADHD brain how to meditate. And now I show others how to do it. Meditation is so important! So the irony that it's freaking hard to do with a running mind, but you need it to help stop the mind from running, wasn't lost on me and always made me giggle.

Sometimes right in the middle of a meditation class I was trying to follow. 🙈

Meditation classes just weren't working for me.

So I took it on as a mission to figure it the heck out! And now it's a daily practice.

Here's my favorite article and why you might want to put meditation on your daily to-do list and get it ta-done!

I finally embraced my ADHD in 2014. Long before I got the official diagnosis in 2022. I don't remember if I was aware that I had ADHD or if I just consciously decided to embrace my strengths and accommodate for my weaknesses. All I know is that I walked out of a fluorescent-lit, open-concept, office environment for the very last time in 2014 and embraced the natural lighting, home office world in 2015. And there was no going back.

I was tired of struggling.

And someone pointed out to me that I wasn't a tree. So I moved!

I know now that ADHD had everything to do with how I showed up in the world. At the time I thought I was just creating my own owner's manual.

🌟 I need to watch how I sleep
🌟 I need to watch what I eat
🌟 I need to watch where I spend my energy

If I overdo it today, I can need one or two recovery days to recalibrate. And what do you do if you don't take one or two days to recalibrate? You burn the heck out and need 20-30.

So now I'm careful.

I protect my peace.

It took me a long time to figure out how to plan a day living with an ADHD brain. But boy am I glad I did.
