Guided Films celebrated its two year anniversary on March 5th! It feels good.

It's incredible that we've made it this far, and on a personal note, I am so humbled to be in a position where I'm able to do the things I love to do and help people at the same time.

Looking forward to an amazing year of growing our team and connecting with more local small businesses to help them shine!

Meet the owner, Ryan Orr – The Original S.O.B.!

I was born and raised just a stones throw from Sooke near Happy Valley, and I moved to Sooke with my wife Karri, 13 years ago.

I have spent 30 years in hospitality, starting as a dishwasher when I was 15 years old, to today. During these years, I have had the privilege of working some truly extraordinary jobs that have taken me all over the world. I have been truly blessed.

You could say that hospitality and great beer is my passion. I dreamt up the idea for S.O.B. during an off season from an Eco-tourism resort I was working at. I was brewing beer in my garage and contemplating what my next phase of life was going to look like. I saw a huge opportunity here in Sooke and started planning Sooke’s first brewery.

In my non-existing down time, I love to golf and spend time with my wife and kids. Outside is always best! I am still passionate about cooking and one day will have the full restaurant and brewery that was the vision that started this little adventure.

If I had to choose a favorite beer, I would have to say Stiff Jab Pale Ale. Obviously, I love all of our beers, but Stiff Jab I can drink anytime, no matter what I’m in the mood for. It is my go to beer. Lone Starr Schwarzbier is a close second... actually, they all are a close second...This is like asking me to choose my favorite kid! Not fair...
