We invite you to experience a new podcast coming to you this winter featuring stories of the people who co-exist, contribute to, and sometimes criticize these communities we call home. From Tofino to Ucluelet, Hitacu to Hesquiaht - all along the mountains and the sea.

Brought to you by two friends with a passion for local history and storytelling - Carly Steven and Kemal Denman are both born, raised, and residing in Ucluelet and Tofino.

Recorded and produced on the west coast of Vancouver Island on the sacred lands of Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ, tuk̓ ̓ʷaaʔatḥ, ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ, ḥiškʷiiʔatḥ, and ʕaaḥuusʔatḥ, in Nuučaan̓uł territory.

Whatever your story is, we want to hear it - told in your own words. Join us in preserving the oral history of this area by contacting us for an interview!

Maybe your ancestors were some of the First Peoples to walk these lands. Maybe you are a descendent of a pioneer family. Maybe you, or your relatives were Americans homesteading over on Catface. Maybe you arrived here years ago to work for a summer and never left, or maybe your parents were hippies on Long Beach in the 70’s and you “arrived” after that summer of love. Maybe you are brand new to “the end of the road", arriving to get a job and find a home in the competitive and unstable housing situation.

Email [email protected] to share your story or if you’d like to recommend someone you know for an interview.
