Parabola Films Film Production company Parabola Films was founded by Sarah Spring and Selin Murat in order to bring critical filmmaking voices to a broad audience.

Award-winning filmmaker Laura Bari’s documentary ‘Ariel’ will be released in 2013: a poetic feature shot in Mendoza, Argentina about a man who is rebuilding his mind and his body after losing his legs in a terrible accident. Also in production is ‘Jeppe on a Friday’ shot by eight South African filmmakers on a single day in the Johannesburg district of Jeppestown. In 2011, Parabola released ‘St-Hen

ri, the 26th of August’ in which sixteen filmmakers simultaneously documented stories taking place in the Montreal neighbourhood over the course of a single day. Directed by filmmaker and activist Shannon Walsh, ‘St-Henri’ was the team’s third cinematic collaboration, and the first of a triptych of feature length ‘neighbourhood documentaries’. Other projects include Canada’s first feature documentary about the Alberta oil sands, ‘H2Oil’ and a haunting music video for Montreal’s Little Scream. Parabola Films is committed to supporting artists with a unique vision for discussing social change and cinema, and looks for collaborators who are passionate about storytelling.
