I’m here for you.

Books have always been a part of my life. Growing up in northern British Columbia we had long, cold winters with only a wood-burning stove to heat the log home my dad built for our family. I would spend many months indoors, reading books and writing stories on my Smith Corona typewriter. To this day I regret that I never kept any of those typed stories—they probably weren't any good—but they were my beginning, and it would’ve been nice to share them with my daughter.

Now I’m a bit of a book nerd, so please bear with me here, because I like to think of life in chapters. And often once I've closed a chapter of my own life, I forget to look back on it. Maybe this is because it’s so deeply ingrained in us to keep moving forward towards new goals, in business and in life, that we don't see how far we've already come.

For me, some of my life's chapters might include: Early Childhood: Building Forts and Riding Horses, my Summer Backpacking Through Japan: And Getting to Know My Older Brother, and of course, Adventures in Germany: Intro to Book Publishing, the 2008 Recession: Job Loss and Feeling Lost While Finding Hope in Less Vegas, and finally Back in Canada: Working For The Calgary Flames.

So now let me ask you, what would your chapters look like?
